Hello,

I have recently been looking into these boost sensors and am curious as to whether they make a noticeable difference or not?

I have seen a couple of people on the forum opting to go for them but, do they justify paying that sort of price?

Lastly, if they are worth purchasing, will they need to be calibrated/ mapped to be usuable or can they be fitted straight onto the car without any issues. As I won't be getting the car remapped just yet!

Regards,
Daniel

Hi,
You don't say what engine you have, but if you ae talking about these http://www.aemelectronics.com/?q=pr...sure-sensors/stainless-steel-map-psia-sensors
one issue is that they are pressure only. Many of the standard sensors also measure temperature, so this would be missing. A stainless steel housing is not automatically better. It will be more robust but depending on the actual sensing technology used it may not perform better. Personally I would not bother unless you have increased the boost to outside the range of the standard sensor. If this s the case you will need a remap.

Hello,

I have the 1.4 grande punto T-Jet. Am on about the ones that come from the esseesse kit. That's what I was trying to say about it needing mapping/ calibrating before being able to drive the car as it will be from another car.

I am aiming to go from the standard power which is 120 to minimum of 180hp, just wondering if this will help enhance the performance a noticeable amount or make power delivery smoother as I have read somewhere they are more accurate than the standard ones?

Regards,
Daniel
