Hello,

I am thinking of ideas for an exhaust for the T-Jet. As I already have an Abarth turbo and forge intercooler on the way, to be fitted. The next performance upgrade for me would be a full exhaust system.
I have enquired to powerflow Slough who are local to me and for a full turbo back system with sports cat they estimated it will be around £700, which doesn't sound too bad. However, I have heard a lot about how good supersprint exhausts both performance and sound wise. But, the cost just doesn't make them possible for me.
Would I sound stupid as to wondering if getting a supersprint manifold along with the system from powerflow would be a good idea or just stick with a full turboback system from powerflow?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi mate,

I also have a t-jet with similar mods. I'm running a Ragazzon decat and then a powerflow back from there.

2.5" back from the decat into a custom back box. I got charged £400 for the exhaust which included a new flexi; which may actually be quite cheap.

Performance, noise and price wise, decat and custom exhaust is the most common thing :)

Hi Alex,

I have seen people go for the Ragazzon decat, how expensive was it? I bet the system sounds loud! I have been considering the decat but, was thinking of the sports cat purely because it is still legal so no issues with MOT testing. But, your system does sound a lot like the one I would be going for. What is it like and did you see performance gains from it?

Hi,

I managed to get my Ragazzon decat 2nd hand for £80, bargain! Any decat would do though.

I initially wanted a sports cat too however the cost was too much.

My setup has a nice noise, not silly loud but loud enough (y) pops and bangs etc.

A sports cat with a mid or back box would sound nice I imagine. Hard to tell what power increase it gives, it's more that it will allow for better gains with a remap.

Wow, that sounds like a great find! Yeah the sports cats aren't cheap, the quote I got from powerflow said that the sports cat alone would be £250-280.

That sounds ideal to me really! How long did it take Powerflow to fit the system?

A remap is the next step once I figure out what exhaust I want. Hoping for atleast 180hp if I'm lucky!

Thanks for the advice Alex.

Hi mate,

Really quick one, I've just found this:
"Scorpion Sports Cat for saleScorpion sports cat for sale been on my car 8000 miles, Cost new £470. Genuine reason for sale. Suitable for ihi powered cars"

Go to http://www.abarthisti.co.uk/classifieds/ and scroll down, you may be able to get this for around £200 if you try, it's listed as £225!

I believe this is made from scorpion/Forge.

The Powerflow exhaust was made up in around a day and a half, should be possible to get it done in a day though.

Also checkout https://www.facebook.com/groups/puntoparts/ there's someone selling a straight through exhaust and decat for £250, so you could potentially get the exhaust with sports cat, and just get powerflow to add a back box or something.

Power wise; I have a vl36, Airtec intercooler, pipercross panel filter + esseesse intake, decat, exhaust and remap. Making 172 bhp with 256 ft lbs, soon to fit a Forge Actuator and go for a map tweak to take me over the 180 figure, possibly even over 185, we'll see. The potential is there for these cars mate :D

Hi Alex,

Wow, I'll have a look at it sounds good! Will need to wait another week or so until I get paid so hopefully it will won't be taken.

Oh that isn't too bad, just don't want to be without the car for too long :p I will have a look at that page too, thanks mate.

Wow 172hp that's amazing considering it's only 120 from standard. Did you get it done at the rolling road at Red Dot? I know there is so much potential for these engines it's just a matter of how much time and money you are willing to put into it!

Hello,

It's best to get a custom map specific to your car, not sure if that's what Red dot can do; if so great.

Any decent tuning company should be fine to tune the t-jet, make sure it is on the dyno quite a lot while getting mapped. Mine was done at the Performance Centre Sunderland, they're Revo authorised if that matters haha. They usually tune m3's etc so I knew my little Fiat was in safe hands.
