Hi everyone.Does anyone know how i check the gearbox oil? do I have to remove the battery and tray to get to the hex nut? seems accessible on the manual car guide, but cannot find a guide for the dualogic.Had my car for six months now and I have upgraded the power steering with an upgraded one that has a lifetime guarantee. Not sure i am liking this gearbox though as it has become reluctant to go into neutral.

The dualogic has special selespeed (sp) fluid under the heat shield covering the gearbox. Remove that and check for the level, cleanliness of the oil and any leaks. It is this oil you need to check rather than the gearbox oil itself.

Had a look and could not see a level indicator.Any ideas? can't really find much info on this.

do you want to check the "gearbox oil"?,
or the Selspeed fluid - that operates the gear change..??

gearbox oil level is normally a HEX plug on front endge of gearbox ( like the sump plug)

the selespeed reservoir is a large clear plastic tank on the outside of gearbox,
best seen in this photo..,

I would like to check the selespeed level, cannot see an indicator line.It looked full when not primed, but apparently you are supposed to check it after you prime the system when you open the drivers door and again when you turn on the ignition;which i did,but struggled to see a fill line. Also i could not locate the hex nut for the gearbox oil, which is probably best accessed when the car is jacked up or on a ramp maybe.

Hey sorry to jump on ur post.
I have an auto license does that cover a grande punto dualogic? Been looking for days and some people say you can drive it on auto license and a couple of people have said it still has a clutch pedal so it's classed as manual so a abit confused any help plz

It doesn't have a clutch pedal.

That's what I thought, just thought I'd make sure as not seen inside one in person. What do people think of the car? Recommended or avoid?

Avoid.stick to a manual, the dualogic will be expensive and possibly hard to fix if it goes wrong. Also check to see if the power steering has been sorted or that will eventually fail costing £300 and up.

I found the fill level on the dualogic reservoir,a little green line and it was fine.
I found the hex fill plug for the gearbox oil in the middle of the selespeed reservoir, you cannot see it but can feel it,got that undone and the gearbox oil needed topping up,i undone the drain plug first and none came out,i hardly put any in and it was full already.took for a drive and seems fine but still refuses to
go in neutral after a drive, turn off then on and goes in neutral no problem which is strange.Does anyone know the gearbox oil capacity for this model? 1.4 dualogic.

I did not fill up the dualogic reservoir as the level was fine so it did not need bleeding. There are no fault codes, just says operation not possible when trying to get into neutral after a run.seems to go into neutral fine when cold.

I phoned fiat up on mine, as got fault light flashing, was told it was 1.5 litres, so went and picked 2 litres up but I can't find anything like the little green line or allen key plugs, wondering if anyones got picture details where to find them? cheers
