I am looking at getting an induction kit for my 1.4 V8 Grande Punto and people have said to get the K and N 57i, however I have heard bad reviews about them could anybody recommend any other ones that may be better or is the K and N good to go with?

Thanks

I have this induction kit, sounds perfect on my punto mk2, can get a sound from my car if you wanna hear it?

Just keep you original air box and get a K&N panel filter instead
You will lose lowdown torque and depending where you put it you'll lose power as well from heat soak in the engine bay

Is that if you use the induction kit or keep the current box?

As cfreitas has said
Panel filter would be the best option and if you added an extra cold air intake you could see some increased mpg benefit .
I'm no expert but the k&n induction kit is a poor design it's flawed in many ways, a bit like the pipercross bolt on filters we had on the old rover s series engine maestros rover 216 as it just pulled warm air from around engine direct into the carb!
Yes you would get a nice induction roar and increased fuel cost that's about it !
A Gsr kit is no doubt a better option tried and tested and pulls in cold air
Or a custom enclosed Filter Again with a good cold air feed and need to get the lengths of tubing feed just right as you will lose Bhp and torque
Hence the Gsr kits are expensive

Guys... don't spend your money on these filters.

The stock one (paper type/filter box) is the best on NA/stock engines.
You will not gain a single hp or anything else with these induction kits.

Yes, on other engines (turbo / heavy modified NA) there is difference but that's a whole different story.

Keep the stock piper filter clean and enjoy the ride.

Will it sound better though?
