Hi all I've looked through other peoples posts on here for a while and am just getting the hang of using this forum.
I've been driving my GP for a few months now and tbh I love it. I've done a few appearance mods like spraying my rims, painting my Calipers, adding footwell lights and LED interior bulbs.

I'd just like to become a part of the GP world and get people's opinions and ideas on what to do next?

Thanks.

Hi Mate welcome to the forum! I have a 1.2 dynamic in black, I love the look of your car looks ace mate! I'd go for a badgeless grille next if I were you, they look good on all GPs. How did you get on painting your callipers? I want to paint mine but I'm just worried about the finish and the dirt and rust on mine, did you do anything before you painted them?

Regards
Ash

Hi man, cheers for the welcome.
Yeah I'm just about to order a badgeless grill to fit. I'm pretty happy with the colour tbh because I haven't seen many around.
Yeah I was worried about painting the Calipers and didn't have much faith either but as long as you buy proper Caliper paint, and give them a proper clean before you paint them you should be all good. When I did mine I sanded one and didn't the other to see if that made a difference but so far after a couple of weeks there are no signs that it makes a difference.

Would love to see a few piks of yours.

Going to do my wheels like this are they anthracite ?

Hi man, to do my wheels I just used Halfords Matt Black spray paint (I had to google what anthracite was lol) 1/2 coates should do it.

ANOTHER THING - REMEMBER TO LAQUER AFTER.

Cheers.
Henry.

And the brakes lol what paint did you use?

For Calipers I nearly made the mistake of buying normal detail paint but that will just melt off. You need to buy specific paint made for Calipers so it can withstand the heat caused by friction. (Halfords also do this, just ask) 3/4 Coates are needed to get a thick vibrant covering though.

Cheers
Henry.

Ah nice one mate cheers, I've seen some caliper paint in halfords so I think I'll use that and I'm going to try and clean them up as much as I can before I paint them, and I've got a progress thread on here if you want to have a look at mine :)

I'll take a look now.
What's your thoughts on panel filters and back boxes?

I was looking at panel filters a few months ago, I've heard good and bad things about them, same with induction kits, some of them just make a bit of noise and not much more power depending on what you get, and again the same with back boxes I think the only one that people should use is the sporting back boxe, apparently an absolute bugger to fit but it does give you a much better sound, best just to look around and read reviews mate

I've read a lot about induction kits and how pretty much all of them actually make the car less powerful. Then I came across panel filters that just replace the existing filter, a lot of people say they add power to the car.

Hmm I don't know with back boxes.. I haven't heard they take power but I would like a nice 'rawr' to let people know I'm coming :p

Yes some induction kits cause more trouble than they're worth ha! And no the back boxes don't do anything to your power output, I personally hate most aftermarket back boxes because 9/10 of them sound like lawn mowers lol the only one I would fit to mine is the sporting one, lovely rich sound, someone on my estate has one and I does sound nice every time it goes past me, I wish I could afford one ha

Back box will be a future investment I think lol. I like doing little things to it that make a big impact. I want to get some vinyl and do some of my dash and my key as well.

Yes mate and me, the little things are good, like bulbs, just got some LED side light and number plate bulbs, dead cheap but make a massive difference! I've wrapped my key in carbon fibre and i love it, next thing is to pick up my 17" fork spoke alloys tomorrow and fit them with my callipers painted and I want to wrap my dash as well but it looks like a really hard job ha

I've seen pictures of others who have wrapped their dash and it looks SO good I have to do it!
Yeah bulbs for interior look pretty mint too

I've changed my side and headlights to ultra blue which are pretty nice. Might have to do number plate ones next.
