Try some intake cleaner like described above something may be stuck, disconnect maf, yellow slide plug just before airbox, see if it runs ok like that,

If you have time i would definately clean or even blank the egr off these are a pain, i went through 2 until i blanked

Turns out it was the maf sensor. I disconnected it and it ran sweet as a nut :) anyway thought I would also check the air filter and that was buggered as you can see from the pictures.... Think that had something to do with the sensor going... Anyway as a temporary measured soaked the sensor in some break fluid and it's made a dramatic improvement tho Im still not sure it's right so will probably just replace it along with the filter.

I also took the egr off and it was pritty much clean tho there was no gasket on the pipe going from the egr to the engine, which I thought was a bit strange as there was one on the exhaust to the egr.. I tightened it up just a little extra incase it was missing :s

Thanks for everyone's help
Mike

Yer tell me about it the mechanic who works at my dads garage was stunned when I showed him :s it's physically bent upwards in the direction of the airflow. I'm in two minds if I should look at a new induction setup or atleast a performance filter

Any suggestions welcome. :)

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I'm experiencing the same lack of low end power...but I have no faults displayed or stored. Just big turbo lag until 2000 rpm, could it be my egr? Power above 2k is fine, it goes well with no smoke. Any help appreciated before I chuck an egr valve on it

If you get any answers, I'd be interested in hearing about them too, I have a sluggish - very sluggish, in fact the little Sei would overtake and leave us behind sluggishness in low revs at the mo'... :(

Any news, I changed the MAF sensor with another one and no difference...

Does anyone know if the EGR is temperamental sometimes? Any way of proving the function of one??

I unplugged mine and boy... it was not nice - even worse..

Jon
