Hi all,

My name is Jordan i'v been follwing the forum for a month or so now so I thought i'd join in the fun.
I part exchanged my mk2 punto 1.2 (with factory fitted abarth kit) about 2 month ago for a Grande Punto 1.9 Multijet Sporting (130) I must say the increase in power is HUGE but a trill to drive and I'm actually saving money on fule costs and insurance.

Mods so far:
Abarth headlights
Team Heko wind diflectors
Badgless grill (on order....still)
Abarth 17" alloy wheels
New head unit (original one was a bit tatty and I got a brand new sony HU for free :))
New gloss black vinyl for door pillars as mine are all scratched (just waiting for some decent weather)

Future mods:
Abarth break lights
Eibach sport line lowering springs (please advise)
New boot badge as mine is full of water

1st up the old punto (I loved this car if I could afford to I'd buy her back. I learnt how to drive in this car and had it for 3 and a bit years.)

All stock apart from the abarth lettering on the grill lol also had a wobbly tooth were someone kindly reversed a van into it while I was asleep

So over to the GP all nice and shiney. (ignore the number plate blanking it was done for a non car related forum)

With Abarth headlights I took the grill off while the bumper was loose still waiting for it, been on order since I brought the car.

And now with the abarth alloys I love them just want to get it lowered on sportlines now. could you guys advise me on this dont want to ruin the ride quality and dont want to scrape every little hump on the road.

Please feel free to let me know what you think.

Jordan.

Hi mate, I like your old punto but I really like the GP in Orange. We are getting quite a few of a Orange GP's on the forum quite a few been added in the last number of weeks. All in all mate your GP is looking well and getting it lowered on sportlines really will set the Abarth alloys off.

Regards
Stephen

Look's lovely! (y) Always a shame to let another car go but i'm sure you'll love this one just as much. Sportlines would be a good option, not going to lower it too much and will improve the handling a huge amount, 30-40mm drop so basically the arch gap I would say.

If you ever want to get rid of the Abarth alloy's give me a shout ;)

Hi thanks for the comments deffinatly thinking sportlines now would love that gap gone. I only just brought the abarths lol and only put them on today so your in for some wait esspecially as I intend on getting a real abarth next and its always good to have a spare set of wheels lol.

Sportlines are the best way to go! haha it's always worth a try, I never got the original abarth alloy's with my car and really want a set :( always on the hunt ;)

i did the same swap as you, a mk2 to the GP, and my first reaction was 'this handles like a barge!' I quickly put mine onto eibach and it make it much much nicer to drive!
I LOVE those wheels on the Orange GP's suits it so well!

Cheers mate springs have been ordered now just waiting on delivery then its being booked in so will get pics up when there on. My mk2 had a busted rear shock so the gp was a lot better to drive imo. n thanks im lovin the wheels to had some good comments from the lads at work too :)

little update: had a bit of a bump this morning :bang: suppose thats what bumpers are for lol took top layer of paint of the lip at the bottom of the fromt bumper so its like a yellowish colour underneath and looks a bit odd....So I nipped to halfords and got some custom spray made up, clear lacqure and some wet and dry best part is I only paid 6 quid (ish) as i had a voucher. (y) will be attempting to spray it over the weekend never done anything like this before but im pretty confident i can do it. If so i'll get some filler and fix the bump I have on the back aswell but I brought the car like that lol I dont use it as a bumper car

Ok bad news (again) guys looks like TMC have sent me the wrong springs (for a 500) so they dont fit my GP rang TMC who checked the order and it was a fault on there behalf they are going to send me a new set of springs for GP and pay the cost for me to return. Car is in garage today anyway to check annoying sqeekey nosie just waiting on mechanic to get back to me.

So! new update eibach springs are on the car looks maaad! will get some pics up soon, car is going for its spray tan tomorrow got quoted £200 for a small bit on the front bumper so got another quote from my mates dad for £80 for the front and rear bumper :) my mate has also started a car detailing company last summer so I said he can do his magic in the new year he's also doing a training course on vinyl wrappin and window tinting so said he can practice by tinting my car (maybe)

Almost forgot! my bagdeless grill has come so pics will follow

Car has had spray tan done and I'm not a happy bunny  inspected the car yesterday to find my newly sprayed bumper had lost some of its newly painted paint.

looks like it has peeled slightly or not been sprayed evenly  eather way it has to go back so means another day off work.... what a shame
I know it looks like nothing but if your paying for something you would expect it to be done better than that.

Once this is done I will concentrate on getting some more mods done to the car in the newyear.

You havent washed the car have you mate or used a pressure washer. I was told to leave my bumper for a week after it was resprayed before washing/using a pressure washer. I would defo be taking it back and asking them what has caused this.

No mate not even touched it picked it up Friday night and checked it Saturday morning I was told to leave it 2 week to cure properly. He said he could get it sorted next week so will ring him again tomorrow hopefully get it in for this Wednesday as I'm busy at work every other day.
