Hi People,

Driving my car Sunday night, just came out of McDonalds drive thru, and my Engine Management Light came on..and it said "Check Engine", my car revs were going up and down, and as soon as i put my foot on acceleration the car died, same thing happened when started back up etc...

Got towed home, luckily my car is still under warranty.
Car stinks of petrol when turned on, Coolant is Black and stinks too, and its loosing Oil. Also Oil breather hose is clogged with thick white stuff.
Its a 1.4 8v 2007 GP with 38,000 miles on clock.

Just waiting to hear from garage now to see what needs to be done, and whats happened ect...

Hopefully not too bad :(

No never got any food from there....had my tea before i went out ;):)...

Yeah cars been serviced erm haven't had cam belt or waterpump done, cars done 38,000 miles, engine temp.wasn't showing signs of overheating :/

if the coolant has not been changed at the specified interval this could have aggravated the issue as its often overlooked and along with its Antifreeze property it also includes anti corrosion and lubrication agents which could have contributed to the hg issue whilst the engine is in bits might as well get the belt pump and tensioner done whilst its in bits both are over due (4-5 years interval )

Well i got the car when it did 36,000 Miles, and that's when they did a service. The car has now done 38,000 Miles, and i took it down a few months ago because the coolant smelled funny and looked a strange Colour. They flushed the coolant out and put fresh in, and its happened again so there must be a problem somewhere.

The garage is sorting all the problems so i'm not sure if they will change the belt and put a new pump in, because they will want to try and save as much money as they can wont they ? if its under warranty?
