Hi,

I only just registered here and have a few questions for all of you grande punto experts!

My car is an 07 1.2 Grande Punto active, in navy, 5 door. I bought it in April and have had no problems whatsoever. I still dont really have a problem as such, just a couple of niggles!

1. should the demister icon light up when i turn the lights on? The air flow icon (like the little car) lights up and so does the rest of the dash and console. The light comes on when i use the demister and it definately works, but the actual fan looking picture isnt lit. Should it not light up or do I have a fuse blown somewhere?

2. Since the cold weather, my car starts but sometimes the engine will show as red hot, and then go right backdown again after 2 seconds. Its an intermittent problem and hasnt done it for a few days now. Even when it does it, the car still runs absolutely fine, ive just noticed it shows a hot engine on start up. Is this a sensor gone somewhere? Im reluctant to take it to a garage and pay for a diagnostic at the mo as its not done it for a couple of days! The car isnt overheating BTW, its literally just on start up, SOMETIMES! which is annoying!

1. Yes it should, you have a blowen bulb.

2. I can't really offer any concrete advice on this one but since this happens at start up I wonder if it is to do with a weak battery. Low voltage from a weak battery seems to cause all sorts of funny errors at start up on the gp.

Hmmm possibly. I think i'll leave it a bit longer to take it to the garage and see how it goes. Ive booked it in for Saturday and dont want to pay for nothing if its just a weak battery/dodgy connection!

Any ideas how i change the bulb?!

if i'm guessing the right light that you're on about i would assume it was an LED rather than a bulb?

i think you need to remove the radio to pull out the heater panel

I have posted this froma desktop where and have no access to a camera at the mo. The light works that comes on when you turn the demister on to tell you its in use, and the light does work that lights up the icon with the dash on, its just its not as bright. the temp control is also a bit dim so i think they must both share the same light somewhere.

common issue, there is a guide on here somewhere about how to take it all apart and replace the bulbs.

I took it to a garage at the weekend and nothing came up on the diagostics test machine thingy (technical term) so they said its all good. Could have been some damp on the temp sensor as its stopped doing it now!

and ive changed the blub.

BOOM!

Temp issue is a well documented software issue. Fiat should be able to do an update if your finding it an issue, but cheaper just to ignore it
