While driving at 60mph yesterday my Grande Punto 1.2 Active gave a small jolt, the temperature gauge went vertical, turned red and the engine management light flickered on; within 5 seconds everything went back to normal and the car drove fine.
I've checked the engine coolant level and the oil level, as well as checking under the oil-cap for the dreaded margarine effect, but everything looks fine.
Have any of you folks had a similar experience? If so, what do I need to do?
Thanking you in advance.
