Alright Folks

dam electrics.

when the i turn the lights on both side lights on each cluster work fine.
then i turn the indicator left and everything is fine turn right and both rear side light bulbs flash at me. when i try the brake lights then the n/s side works o.k. but the o/s indicator glows very dimmly.

then with no side lights on and i indicate left works perfect. I indicate right and i have all 4 rear lamps flashing at me. then when i push the brake pedal the n/s is good but the o/s indicator glows very dim and the bottom lamp only the a single filament lights up instead of both.

Anybody got any idea of what is going on?
I think the car is trying to take the **** out of me.

Check all the terminals, plugs on the back of the lamp unit and bulb contacts are clean. main earth is on the boot wall behind the plastic trim

Have you replaced a bulb recently? This is characteristic of a single filament bulb in a dual filament application and vice versa, creating a feedback loop. Or try swapping each bulb at a time over to the other side to see if the problem arises that side.
