i have a grande punto active sport but now with the new evo out, i want one! :p
but im a student and i cant afford another 5+ grand so i was wondering if anyone knew if any of the major parts would fit (eg bumpers, lights etc) so it would look like an evo, and how much replacement parts would i need? i dont mind doing a bit of modifying body work, just wondering if theyre the same sizes etc?

if anyone could help id really appreciate it, thanks

couldnt you just go on/extend finance for an evo?
the lights will fit i think, but im sure that on the gp s1 and s2 lights were wired differently, and im sure the evo will be different again. i dont know about bumpers, but i looked around one at a showroom a while ago, and it was same size as the gp sat next to it. i think its just bumpers lights interior and engine that is the difference between gp and evo isnt it?
also, bit off topic but does anyone think the evo has been a flop? i dont think iv ever seen more than ten on the road, and they flogging them off now in loads of dealerships for 10k?

Fiat are doing 0% finance again trade yours in and get an evo, it'll be less hassle less money and less head ache.
At the end of the day you'll have a S1 that looks like a S2/Evo (is that the right terminology I'm new to Grande talk) that cost quite a bit of time and money to do and may even have reduced the resale value at the end of it.
I know it's harsh but I'm cutting through the BS. :)

i cant trade it in because it has something to do with my dads business that i dont really understand :p
i think i might start of with looking for some rear lights to fit and see where it goes from there, maybe just take the nicer parts and have a cross between the 2??
and id rather spend 3k cos then ill have more money to play with the engine :D

i quite like it, i was thinking on having the big plastic bits wrapped in carbon fibre as it would go nicely with the dark grey paint :) i think ill just look into getting the rear lights now, everything else seems to much effort :p
and theres only so much you can do with a 1.4 16v, which brings me onto my next topic, has anyone got any tips on performance bits?

i was thinking of getting a remap, cold air filter and performance back box. would that make a huge difference? and is there any mods that will make a big difference?

If you cant trade the car in because its something to do with your Dads business the car obviously doesnt belong to you. Is it on lease or a PCP or finance or some extended hire deal? Anyway.....given that the car is not your actual property you need to consider what the real owner might have to say about your suggestion and if they would be happy to let you do it to their car and substantialy lower its value.......and thats before you involve the insurance provider.

i think its a great idea, iv bin thinking about the evo parts on a grande like the lights etc, its up to u what u do, at the end of the day ur always gonna get sum1 who thinks they know best n bring up the whole insurence crap and finance b*ll*x but its ur car, do what u want, and if u drive ur car a lot and want it to look good then IMO you get ur monies worth even if it dus devalue ur car, put sum pics on if u do put any evo bits on and PM me if u find a cheap dealer (y)

This Forum is better than that, no member should sanction risky, dangerous or illegal suggestions, especially when they are offered for free by more responsible & experienced adults...

To add to what Ffoxy has said, if his car is on finance, I would presume that technically the car isn't his until the last payment has been made.

But, anyway, you mentioned that the car was bought and paid for in cash by your dad. So i can't see the problem with trading it in, unless it was bought as a company car and paid for through the books and even then I doubt it would be a problem.

Also, you'll probably find its more trouble than its worth. How far would you want to go? Certainly the lights would cause problems as they are LEDs (if I remember rightly) and would play havoc with the Grandes computers.

1. Get a job
2. Save

evo, Yuck!
Grande owners seem to keep dismissing the Evo & saying it a mess when really the Evo is actually a very nice car and it is an improvement on the Grande, the mistake Fiat have made is with the front & rear bumpers & the “Start Stop” system.
The Interior of the Evo in my opinion is far superior to the Grande & the front & rear lights on the Evo are pretty slick looking too, but they messed up by ditching the classic design of the Grandes bumpers and as for the “Start Stop” don’t get me started!:bang:
Anyway that’s just my opinion, although no doubt you’ll all come after me with pitch forks now! :peace:
