General White Tjet/Abarth or not?

All you white car owners out there im in need of some advise i'm planning on getting a white Tjet or Abarth when my finance runs out but i'm not sure. I don't mind keeping it clean but how long does it stay clean? Does it become a hassel? cheers!

When I first read that I thought it said fiancee

I know plenty of people with white cars and they are always saying that they are not that hard to keep clean. From what I hear from friends and family black cars are a right pain to keep clean

Get the White Abarth if you can afford it :) its better than the TJet

Just make sure u can afford the insurance and other bits tho as it does cost more to run/maintain!

Im sure it will be fine and if your cleaning it every 2 weeks or so, black cars are more of a nightmare to stay clean I will agree with Vance!

Ok this sounds really disgusting but the worst thing about keeping a white car clean is that bluebottle fly’s SH*T all over it (its like they are drawn to the colour) and if its left sitting in the sunlight it bakes on and becomes like tar to remove:bang:.
Other than that it’s far easier to keep clean than a black car, you don’t see every little scratch for example. (y)

Not really. Its exactly the same engine as a Tjet.

And op, you own a black car, it wont be worse than keeping a black car clean. You will jet get tar spots all over it.
What are you some sort of idiot?

The engine itself is the same apart from the turbo and boost sensors, so its not exactly the same........

It will cost more to run and maintain, there are a limited amount of Abarth garages if you are going to take it to them so thats travel time and petrol to those (if u get it serviced there) and its a higher insurance group so therefore costs more to insure! Granted the tax is the same and the fuel cost is going to be about the same (bit more in my experience, sports button does not help!)

However, I do agree on the tar spots, but you will just have to clean those off more often than on a black car.

Yeah didnt go the gym in the end, was a fatty and went to the cinema to eat sweets and ice cream instead :)

Yeah my insurance quote went from £453 fully comp to getting quotes of £1000ish on many sites, have found one for about £660-680 though and currently paying £89 a month instead of £37 when I had the Sporting

Group 15D old one, or 32 new scale I think, might be slightly off

Actually talltom you are wrong as I asked about servicing at uncle arnies abarth at Glasgow and they told me you can take the abarth to any arnold clarks dealership to be serviced! ;)

I have been told that the garages that are not Abarth cannot order Abarth parts(parts for an Abarth car) in, I did try and get mine serviced closer to home, but couldnt because of that. They may do it in Arnold Clarke as they are probably more advanced than Glyn Hopkin (can share costs across the garages rather than being tied im guessing?), but I have Glyn Hopkin closest to me, and I take it to Lipscomb Group garage in Maidstone.

And hardly wrong, the insurance increase still increases the running costs over the standard T-Jet

Never mentioned insurance, I was going to be £20 a month more for the abarth!! And I'm only saying what the abarth specialist at springburn a/c in Glasgow told me! Bear in mind that I Specifically asked if I could take my car to their Elgin branch(fiat) as it is over 350 miles away!

And that was their answer.......

Are you driving an Abarth now? as you sig and your profile say GPS 1.4 16V which im sure you would be able to get serviced at any fiat Arnold Clarke Branch.

No that is the car I was going to trade in June when I went to enquire about it, I had signed all the documents for a 10 plate grande abarth but pulled out of the deal due to me going through divorce procedings and paying for a morgage to a house I don't live in!!! So due to me doing 90 mile trips to work and back I've actually bought a diesel mjet sporting instead!

And what has that comment got to do with anything? Just because I don't own one, does that make me to be a liar or something?

Nope does not make u a liar, was just strange that you said about the service yet own a sporting. Was checking that it was not the sporting you had asked about getting serviced.

Shame about divorce etc, they are a fun car to drive as you said :)

I will have to enquire myself about Abarth in a Non Abarth Garage, when I next get the car serviced in a year as I would prefer not to make a 120 mile round trip.

Do the costs for the T-Jet service match the Abarth costs though (guessing you looked into this as well?), as even if you went to the same closer dealer and could get both done at the same place, is there a difference? (As I know a different grade oil is specified for the Abarth could that be a different cost?)

cheers!

I didn't actually ask about the price of servicing due to having the servicing included in the price but if I find the deal agreement sheet I will post it up!!(y)

Well I was quoted £550 for the 2nd yr service, yet managed to get them down to £420 with a bit of ringing around, if that is the same as the T-Jet then I will agree the costs are the same(actual service costs), I know that the recommened oil for the Abarth is Selinia Abarth which is 10-50W and normal 20K selinia for the T-Jet im pretty sure?

Also the tjet was only £99 as are the rest of the gp petrol range at arnold clarks for the first service and £160 for the second service(diesel is a bit more expensive) didn't compare the two though coz I have the non turbo sporting, which is being traded in on Monday for my mjet sporting all being well. Awaiting it to be prepped!

I dont see the point of having an abarth over the tjet, can't notice the power difference from and abarth to a remapped tjet.
Just paying for a bodykit and badges
