Hi,

I've just taken my Grande Punto 1.4 16v to the Hayes Fiat garage for a full service and was told that I had 2 problems. The first was that my radiator was leaking and would need replacing (only a minor leak at the moment). Secondly, that the OSF spring was broken, they suggest replacing both front springs at the same time.

The car has just done 19,000miles so I wanted to see if both springs should be replaced at the same time considering the mileage and also if the radiator leak was normal for a car only 3 years old on 19,000 miles? Also, should I take it back to the Fiat Garage or consider taking it to Firela Motors?

Thanks
Peter

Depends if you have a warranty left, I dont think the springs should snap or radiator should leak within 3 years.

Compare quotes really and make sure that the parts replaced are Fiat OEM for the private garage. Depending how mechanically minded you are and the tools you possess it is possible to do all the work stated yourself.

Both springs should be replaced at the same time,

TallTom :)

Thanks TallTom. Unfortunately the car is out of warranty so have to fork out the money.

Will definitely compare quotes and check for Fiat OEM parts, don't think the missus would allow me to start tinkering with the car and frankly wouldn't trust myself either.
