Hi guys and girls,

Thinking of getting a GSR induction kit fitted to my 1.2 8v GP active but I have a couple of questions.

Firstly I live in a quiet neighbour hood so the noise from it will be an issue.
I have researched in you tube about the GSR kit. On some videos the sound is dead quiet on others its dead loud.
What sort of noise does it make, does it just sound the same as normal unmodded GP except when you go up the revs it gets thrashy and loud like a boy racer with a fat exhaust type noise?
Also how loud is it travelling at motorway speeds around the 3000-4000 revs range?

What sort of performance gain would I get from a 1.2 as I can't remap as insurance will not support it. I have had various answers from 5BHP to about 12BHP. Could someone clarify please?

I expect with the addittional BHP the torque would be more noticeable,
how noticeable is it?

Would I better off sticking to a BMC air filter?

Thanks

Chris

The performance side of things i can't really answer imo it would make no difference but thats up for debate as ive never had a 1.2.

Noise wise though its not in your face i have a tjet and its only really noisy on full boost and as the turbo spools up i can quite happily drive it at motorway speeds and all day round town without hearing it dump (obviously yours wouldnt at all) and loudly suck in air, the car reacts to you i also have a custom exhaust but youd only hear a quiet burble enough to know id had it changed when im going slow and smooth.

Tbh i think youll find its your road mannor they judge, if your driving causiously and smooth then the noise level of a car isnt an issue theres a heavily modified supra 2jz up my road turning but he doesnt boost it so it doesn't anger anyone.

hope that helps, kinda :p

The users that have reported about it said the following:

Pick up is better.

On hills shiftinh down is either much later or not required at all.

Acceleration times from 0 to 60mph has reduced by around 1.5 seconds.

The induction is not louder on part throttle and noise increases only at higher rpm on full throttle.
