Yeah your right yours do look blue-er. I had mtec before these ones and even a few mates said the ones in my picture were blue-er.

That's the link, and these give off more light than the mtec ones. I changed mine because my mtec bulb went after 3 months ... I was like

But your pic makes them look blue-er definitely!

Those Cosmos White Mtec bulbs... do they have a blue coating?

I'm trying to find the whitest light I can with a clear bulb (I'm not looking for a blue tint to the light, I just don't want a yellowish tint you get from standard) the problem with fitting blue coated bulbs is, in daylight with them switched off, the coating reflects all over the inside of the headlight, making the whole thing look blue, which I hate.

I also don't really want HIDs due to the price, fitting and illegality.

I will be getting LED sidelights (with built in resistors as i gave up trying to fit the ones I got with additional resistors) so i want the headlights to match the white.

I'm also getting some more blue coated 501s for the numberplate lights as the ones I had looked awesome but one blew so I had to go back to the standard ones.

so hopefully then, everything except the Fogs will match, but in my T-Jet its basically impossible to get my hand down there to change them, and I don't want to start pulling the underside of a brand new car apart just to fit some bulbs, and I cant understand the flap in the wheel arches, the flap just gets right in the way of where you need to put your hand when you open it...

I didn't think there was any gaps where a screw could go in from the front?
I thought they only did that on 15 year old cars...

I cant check at the moment though, she is at a body shop after being smashed into from behind...

I used to have these and so did my friend, my one's blew with in 3 months on one of the headlights and one fog light was dimmer than the other. On my friends it melted the connector on his vw fow and was fitted by hima vw mechanic so definatly not poor fitting, also got very poor customer service from this company too. Like many other tho i was happy with the sidelights that have been perfect, so im glad you are happy with your purchase but just giving my opinion and experiance with this company and products

Having googled MTEC bulbs it seems the headlight bulbs get very very hot and seem to melt/burn the connectors on some cars. Should be fine with 5W sidelights though.

There are different wattage ones by the way! If you get normal wattage ones NOT the 100w that mtec do then they can't melt the wiring because the watts are the same ... These people probably got 100w ones and then yeah ofcourse they gonna melt the wiring. It's only designed to cope with 55w

i bought the Cosmos Blue lights the other day. WOW! very good, ok so not as powerful distance wise as my Philips extreme, but just for looks, very good! a nice white light with a hint of blue!

Well recommened for 12 quid!

do they have a blue coating on the bulb or are they clear?

erm well its funny you should ask. when i first installed them, there was like a petroleom coating on there, but now they look blueish! i dont know whether it has burnt off! hahah

they are good though!

We both got 55w ones and like i said my mate who's connectors melted in a vw mechanic so would know not to put on 100w bulbs to standard wiring and lights knowing the effects its would cause.

On my main headlights.. My main beam and low beam are on the same bulb.. - with two different filaments in one bulb. how does this work with the MTEC bulbs? Can you still switch between full beam and normal lights?
Thanks
