Dont see how you are getting 50mpg tbh as that is what 400ish miles to a tank works out at. Way above Fiats official Figures. Ibiza is irrelivant because the tank size is most likely gonna be different.

Ibiza tank was £40 to fill, same as the punto....

Well it hardly makes me 'big and 'ard' to lie on a forum now does it, the OP asked a Q, he got an answer...

Car doesnt get thrashed through 30, 40, 50 zones, ifIi want fun i go and play out in the sticks, which is on my weay to work fortunatly, trip to work has 2 30 zones, and no speed cameras, its 30 miles each way (60 miles per day) a tank of petrol easily lasts me 1 week (7 days!)i probably do 100 odd miles at the weekends... Avg speed in car the other day was reading 39 mph.. obviously it depends where your driving, but for the stretch i do, its reasnably high..

Even when i drive sensibly i can only get 280miles or something to a tank amd thats about 34mpg

i do about 50miles a day
4 in the city
42 on dual carriageway
4 on some pretty wicked country lanes!

on my eco:Drive
Journeys made - 693
eco:Index - 74
Avg Fuel Consumption - 39.4 Mpg
Total Distance - 11650.5 Miles
Total Fuel Used - 930.8 Litres
Total Cost - £1008.6

:yum:

I can average 37-43 Mpg (37 when i use it "properly" 43 when i aim for 400+ miles to a tank) As i like experiments i am gonna drive like a granny for the next tank (just filled up this morning 41 litres of 99Ron Tesco's) and will post back how far i can get! Who wants to have a guess at what i can get?

i reckon i'll do 395 miles (470 is impossible i think)

you used higher octane fuel on previous tanks? takes a few tanks for the car (ecu) to realise and use the higher octane fuel properly...

Have used Tesco's 99 Ron stuff since i brought it nearly 2 years ago! only the odd tank of V-Power or BP ultimate if i been caught short (not very often)

I do 50miles a day. 30 miles of that is on A road, and 20 is b road/country lanes. Mainly 60 limits with the odd 40/50 one chucked in for a couple of miles. Mine might of been better on petrol when it was standard. Think i managed to get 300miles to a tank then.

Whys that so funny?

Search for the debates on all the "premium" fuels and the perceived advantages to performance... economy and engine cleaning, its one of the topics that has created furious debate in the past!

Bottom line is IF your car has an adaptive ECU you may get some benefit, if it doesnt have an adaptive ECU the benefits wont be seen, except maybe the internal engine washing bit....

But when its not me paying to refuel my car i'll put the best stuff in regardless! Doesn't matter to me if it doesn't do what it says on the tin or not! If it does give me a few more miles and a few more bhp then its a bonus! Only reason i use Tesco 99Ron is my company covers my fuel bills but i pocket the Clubcard Points :worship:

I get that Thunderchump but the info may be useful to others who read the Threads and have the same question in mind :D

As per the topic...

I drive a Tjet so am a bit biased, but recently I drove a 1.2gp as a hire car. What a difference! The Tjet sits lower and handles the corners way, way better. And power difference - after driving a Tjet you would probably rather walk than go back to a 1.2. Tjet interior has less parts made from recycled bin liners, and is much better to look at (obviously I like the orange highlights on black seats as fitted to my car!). Blue & Me is great, especially the usb media player on which I have a put a 16Gb memory stick that contains just about every song I like listening to (makes those long hours on foreign motorways much easier if you can understand the lyrics!). Oh yeah, get the skydome...

I can't say about economy on the 1.2, but this morning I drove 70 miles, mostly motorway at 70ish mph on cruise control, with 4 people in the car and the boot full of luggage - my trip computer is showing 41.2mpg for this trip. I drive to Holland 6-7 times a year and can get there and half way back on 1 tank, which is about 390 miles. That's not a one-off, driving-like-a-granny trip, but normal 'beat the locals' foreign motorway driving . But if you drive everywhere on full throttle then you'll get nowhere like that economy, low 20s in my experience.

In regards to the blue'n'me does it or could it work with an iPhone (bluethooth on these **** things are rubbish lol) thank you all for your help!! Defo getting a t-jet now test drove one last night and bloody loved the thing! The guy who took me out was also kind anuf to let me put my foot down a little! Although in the excitment I did forget to ask about the phone thing!! =D

yes it should do.

Bluetooth worked fine with my iPhone 3G and works great with my iPhone 3GS for voicecalls / voicemail.
You can call using the voice command of B&M, and it will also copy the phone book.

It will not do A2DP streaming (as B&M doesnt support it) if you want to use the iPhone as an iPod to play your music (AAC/Mp3) then you will need the B&M Adapter (See Blue&Me part of forum) and the B&M Update (once again, see, B&M forum)

Regards,
Ben.

Thank you ben! Although I won't be using my phone as the iPod due to my girlfreind having controll of the music when she is in the car lol (n)

I am gonna second dutchess on what has bee said about that 1.2 GP. I had been driving one for about a week while my car was with the car doctors. It was a shock getting into it to start with as it was sooooo gutless. Then when I eventually got my car back, I nearly crashed the bloody thing into the back of another car as I just stupidly put my foot right down in order to get anywhere (as I had been doing in the 1.2) and shot off. It still feels very fast now - so maybe some getting used to is required lol.

With the cornering, it was so easy to get tyre squeal with the 1.2! There is a particular corner I take 'normally' in my 1.9MJ and I had people looking at me because of all the noise in the 1.2!

Having driven the 1.4T-Jet, I think you'll be much happier in it - just take it easy!!! Else you could very nearly go into the ar5e end of another car, which sod's law will dictate it being something pricey.
