Technical Knocking behide the doors

Hi

i have a grande punto 3 door there seems to be a Knocking noise behide the doors took it to my local garage and they don't know what the noise is :bang:

any ideas

Which bit actually gets replaced? just the U shape part attatched to the B-Pillar?

Pics of a replacement one anyone so i can see if there really is a difference?

yeah would love to know more about this as i have the same thing. My dealer just looked at me funny when i told him that i think the locks need replacing. what actually needs replacing?

Mines been doing the exact same thing. But I put a bit of insulating tape round that "u shaped part" and its stopped completely. Should i take it off and get them replaced also?

Can do. I put the tape round but it made no difference.

well mine turned out to be the hood. push it down with your hands, if it has room to be pushed down then you need an adjustment to the hood lock.

Yep, i have insulation tape round mine but it makes no difference. Not sure its really a 3rd year warranty item tho

Let me know what they replace and a pic so we can try get a part number for it.

if it makes no difference then it's not the doors. mine made no difference also. check the hood.

It is the door. The creaking is coming from the doors and if you push on them you can hear them creaking.

then i had a different problem. when i pushed the doors nothing was creaking.

i have an idea. put a thin rubber under the striker ,cover all the back surfice ,cut holes in it and screw it onto the body. see if that helps

by hood do you mean the bonnet or is it a technical term for part of the door mechanism?
Sorry for stupid question. I can't hear creaking when i push the door and i put tape round mine too and it made no difference.

no my friend. i mean the metal upper engine cover. yes the bonnet. mine was readjusted to a firmer position and it made a hell of a difference.
