DRLs

Beeen wondering about daytime running lights and wondered if, on the GP, there is an option for them buried in the menu system that the dealer can access? I know I can leave my lights "on" and they will go on and off with the ignition, which is what I do at the moment, but just wondered if there was an option in the menu...

Just curious, really! What options are there in the full menu that the dealer can access?

Sidelights. Same as 500.

Re: DRLs

Why not just turn leave the sidelights on? Dont exactly need the computer for that lol. If they were seperate then i could understand but why would the computer control these? lol

Re: DRLs

That I have no answer for.
It's a bit of a strange one for a conversion. Since on the 500 the end result is that it has no sidelight switch on the stalk. Where as the GP obviously does.

Buy those, ruin your car and fit a toggle switch in your dash

What I mean is, other countries have to have DRLs (Sweden, etc) and, as in the case of the 500, some cars just have the front lights on, not the rears, number plate lights, dash lights, etc at the same time. If I leave my headlight switch on, the lights go on and off with the ignition, which works great. But I was wondering if there was a menu option, which puts the lights on (or just the headlights, nothing else, perhaps) without having to operate the light switch manually.

If you get what I'm on about!

Then the next part of the question - I was just wondering what other things lurk within the computer, accessible only by the dealer.

Sidelights, by the way, are utterly pointless in daylight - 5w is nowhere near bright enough for a daytime running light unless you have a very focused reflector as well.

Re: DRLs

Why do you need a computer to turn them on and off? Just twist the stalk its not exactly hard.

No, it's not. And you don't even need to turn the stalk, they go off with the ignition if you turn the engine off with the switch set at dipped lights.

However, I'm wondering if, in the computer menu, there is a DRL option - for those countries where they are compulsory. It would make sense not to engineer a differnt loom, relays, etc, when one computer can just be configured for a specific country.

Perhaps I should occupy my mind with something mroe important...!

Re: DRLs

to answer your question there is no option for DRL's in the punto, the only way of activating the side lights is to turn the nut on the stalk
