I've placed an order a while back for a Grande 1.3MJ 'Eleganza' Series2, but they seem to be rare as rocking horse s**t. There is a red on available, but i have a red punto at the moment and it has faded, and quite badly on the bumpers, so i'm cautious about getting another red one. I do have to admit that i didn't really look after my current punto with regards to washing and waxing it.

Do you think if it regularly wash and wax that i can avoid this problem or is it just an inherant problem with red cars? I was going for a black one, but also have reservations about that colour too. I must say that the colour selection is a bit limited. (n)

Try doing a Search in the Forum to see the previous debates on colour choice... :p It really is a "what you like" thing, after all its your wedge your spending. Cant beat regular washing and waxing with a good sealing thrown in periodically to stop red paint fade, Mrs Ffoxys red Stilo is now an odd near pink colour due to her neglect... I think New Orleans Blue is the best colour (but then I would) Orange is a popular choice but white and black also have their following masses.

No help really I know...

I've just heard that my order is in transit, so that makes my mind up for me. So black it is.

I'm with ffoxy on this for some strange reason;)

Mind you every time I see an Exotica Red one go by, a little piece of me dies

Are the black one's a bit of a pain to keep clean? That was one of my concerns, but the colours for the eleganza are limited to black, white, red, grey and blue.

Oh Yes.... as are the White... (n)

Correct me if i'm being a dipsh*t...but the red paint shouldn't fade as the old cars did? - I had an old MK1 punto that my mates called the pink princess as it had faded totally. But these used cellulose based paints whereas the newer cars use a water based paint that does not have the same fading problems.

well my 03 plate mk2 Punto has faded. Only a little on the bodywork, but a lot on the bumpers. I can live with the bodywork fade, but the bumpers make it look rubbish.

Mines exotica red, and think that the paint is quite quality (apart from the softness causing chips on the bonnet) but saying that I have washed, waxed and gloss coated quite a bit.
