I am going to look at this car tomorrow. Has it got the usual spec ect? Blue&me? alloy wheel size? when what I have gathered it is a series 1? I have a slight issue with the turbo though as I have heard that alot of them have had recall?
Fill me in about the M-Jet guys as this is my first venture?
Is the M-Jet better than the T-Jet as well?
Tunability ect?
Will this car have the 5 year manufacturers warranty as well.
Cheers guys Iwill give you a buzz later
Off to bed.

Yep, it does. Has blue&me and 17'' alloys. Yeh, its series 1. I wouldnt worry about the turbo, this so called 'dodgy batch' seems to be in earlier ones- not the more recent ones made (correct me if im wrong anyone..). m-jet better then a t-jet? personal preference. It is more tunable due to it being a diesel. No, it wont come with 5 years warrenty. Only 3 years on the series 1.

nice choice in car (y)

take a look at that! Hopefully should have the niggle issused sorted! and yes the mjet is tunable, upto 190hp remaps! But it seems if you use this power your more than likely to blow ur turbo and possibly engine aswell sooner rather than later and its irrelevant of age. So you takes your own pick on that?

Good car though, pretty quick and i v.rarely get lower than 40mpg around town. Can sometimes sound like a mini cab when its cold, but i can live with that!

Ok guys, am I right in saying that basically the 1.4t-jet and the 1.9M-Jet Sporting models are the exact same car EXCEPT the different engine and 6 speed box in the M-Jet?
Ok some input on what is the better car would be awesome?

i wouldnt go there tbh, it all depends on your style of driving. id go for a test drive in both and see which you prefer your self.

Correct, they are the same spec except for the engine and box (oh and the M-Jet had nicer wheels IMO :p )

As for which is better, there have been thread after thread in the GP section 'discussing' which is the better car and guess what, they're good at things and bad at things. It all depends on what you want from the car:

M-Jet will:
- Return good fuel econemy even if you thrash it about
- Make motorway driving comfortable and progressive
- Easy overtaking on country lanes, etc

M-Jet wont:
- Ever sound good no matter how much you spend on induction/exhaust
- Storm off the lights like a proper hot hatch
- Make you feel like you're going fast

The T-Jet basically does the opposite to the above.

If you are like me and enjoy pulling a cars power from every single rev while listening to it scream around the rev range :slayer: then the M-Jet will leave you feeling a little short changed for a rev range - They sound like a strangled cat when you take it past 3k RPM but in return you can shift up at 2.5k and remain in the power band.

The M-Jet pulls like an absolute train in gear but you only get about 2k RPM to enjoy it before shifting up again. The T-Jet doesnt pull quite so in your face but it sounds lovely as you work it around the rev range squeezing all of the power out of it.

So the big question is, do you want a petrol or a diesel???

Well put!

I do mostly motorway driving, so the m-jet is the best choice there. If you drive around country roads i would go for the t-jet, especially as diesel is so much more expensive, that brings the economy a bit closer to the m-jet

Exactly mate :)

Then you get stuck in my situation where you do a lot of motorway miles (travelling between my house and my girlfriends) but every route into her village requires driving around county lanes (which the M-Jet doesnt do all that well TBH).

I also do very short (2.5miles) trips to and from work 5 days a week. These trips are driven sensibly however they still have a detrimental effect on my fuel econemy because by the time I've got to work's carpark the M-Jet still hasnt warmed up.

I'm strongly considering going back to petrol and just suffering the slight econemy drop on the motorway journies in favour of the slightly better econemy on the short trips to work and the country lane fun.

I'm currently averaging roughly 40MPG on tanks in my M-Jet and figure if I can get about 35MPG out of a petrol then I shouldn't even notice a difference in fuel costs.

I just have an MJet that returns a genuine 60mpg @ a steady 70 mph and 49.7 mpg knockin abaht. After 34,000 miles I'm STILL delighted (y)

Great car for not much money, TJet or MJet take your own pick, I drove both and with my annual mileage I'm over the moon with my choice.
