Does anyone have a glovebox that they find hard to close (have to use alot of pressure).

Just found out this is a common problems with the GP gloveboxs!

As a matter of fact I do! Ive got an 08 and its been awkward from purchase! Ive found it helps if you lift from the bottom right of the glovebox it helps it shut! Not perfect but Ive tried looking for some sort of loose screw/nut but I was happy in thinking that I had screw loose, until now that I know someone else has a similar problem!!

I kind of think it could an alignment issue - mine when closed still flops a bit on the right hand side. do others do this?? but like I said I haven't found anywhere to adjust this!

Dealer can and should sort this under Warranty, mine has been done but only after the latch itself failed, new latch and lid aligned, get it done before the latch fails as mine failed in the closed position which can be an arse when you need something from inside there urgently!

Had the same problems with mine then soon after the latch gave way and I could close it at all.

Had it fixed under warranty only to have the same problem a few weeks later. So I ended up fixing it myself. Just a simply case of unscrewing the 3 screws, push the latch back in place and screw everything back.

Hardly worth a trip down to the dealer. ;)

In some cases maybe...

Yer, mine was like it since new aswell, but obviously with the car being new i just thought it was meant to be like that!

But its not, would recommend anyone with the problems to ask there Fiat dealer to fix it. It closes so easily now :D

Mine is in 3 pieces at the moment, and they can have it back like that too. I hope the S2 cars have had this issue rectified. It's a shockingly bad piece of engineering

Mine was bought open, they even noted it on the initial valet before they handed it over to me. So I took it back the next day and they fixed it under warranty.

Mine was has never been put right no matter what the dealer has done! Ive just accepted it now. Strangely enough in this weeks auto express when they test the Vauxhall Corsa, they comment on the poor fitting glove box......

Mine quite often just falls open when im driving along. It is also quite hard to close sometimes.

Might be worth a trip, takes about 2 minutes. Might save you the hassle of it falling open and being hard to close. If it bothers you that is (y)

I need to take my car down to fiat for many reasons atm its just i really cant be bothered its to far. :(

Just got my GP active sport, and my Glove box will only shut if I lift it from the bottom right. Glad it's not just me!
