Just booked my GPS T-Jet in to get a towbar fitted. I gotta lug 2 adult and 2 child bikes around so had no choice.

So if any M-Jet owner wants me to tow them down a motorway on a trailer to avoid the embarassment of sounding like a tractor...

Got that lovely glass roof thingy, so roof-rack was out of question.

Also my bike carrier sits directly on the towbar, so my bikes don't turn into airbrakes and don't obstruct the view through the rear window (as that strap-on would do).

Trident Trailers are doing the deed. Kit comes with a Fiat-own electrics package that just plugs into the car's electrics rather than hacking the wiring loom - so hopefully it bona-fide (I guess I'll find out next week!)

You mean you need a M-Jet driver to tow you now as the underpowered T-Jet will struggle with the extra weight and drag!!

Consider your bait risen to :p

I'll tow you, I have the torque.

Shame you need a towbar, I'd rather walk on broken glass. But you have no choice!

What on the ball itself??

As for the plug in electrics I've not seen a plug in system for the GP i didnt think there was one ive not seen a multiplug in the boot for one

Yep. It just grabs the ball real tight (more inuendo here me thinks!) and the ball takes all the weight. No other connection to the car at all. Used it on my Scooby STI for a couple of years and it was so solid you could have the thing loaded with bikes and still throw the car around like a looney. Money well spent.

thats the type of rack i use your right its rather secure...

All done, and a good job too. No holes in rear bumper as towbar curves under it...

and wait to see what happens when some Chimp rear ends you at the traffic lights :D

its also worth sourcing 3 stainless machine screws and nylock nuts so if you ever have to replace the socket you can unscrew it without the risk of it rusting up (y)

mines a Brink 4297

http://www.brinktowbars.co.uk/new/search.htm

stick 4297 into the search of the above site

its worth being aware now that by fitting a towbar it fowls the rear towing eye screw in point just handy to know if you need to be towed out of a muddy parking space ( have a large shackle to attach a tow rope after fitting it just below the ball should the need arise)
