This is purely out of Interest.
Im doin short commutes atm in my T-Jet and the computer shows a varying figure from 37.5 - 39 MPG, last month on a long run to Cambs 41.3.
What are the M-jets amongst us doing MPG wise plz so I can compare.
We should also take into account the diference in costs Unleaded and Diesel I think its about 10p per ltre more for Diesel 45p per gallon more to consider, whats realy the most economical GPS.

My short commute in my m-jet gives me 42mpg so not that much more. However when I bought it I was doing 600miles a week and averaging 48mpg so big difference in cost terms

how the F**k are you gettin that? the most ive ever seen on mine was about 33-35mpg! is there some kind of secret? lol i think i know what the anwser to that is gunna be! :D

p.s. your brave starting a t-jet Vs m-jet thread again!!!!!

How are you finding your t-jet so far phill? Enough power there to keep a smile on your face? You glad you bought that and not something else? Still waiting for mine and keep going through phases of thinking ive bought the wrong car or the wrong colour etc.

I have a similar daily short commute I'm getting similar economy in my T-Jet to phil j's.
I've not even reached 1,000 total miles yet so may even see a little more once the miles increase.

My previous GP M-Jet on the same journey used to do roughly 41-43 mpg (not remapped).

Dave.

I did a 151 mile A & B road trip (no Mways) to Liverpool from Telford yesterday in my 1.9 MJet and it returned 46.8 MPG for the trip. 2 1/2 hrs each way. NO COMPLAINTS HERE! :D

I get around 33-35 MPG from my MJET but I don't drive economically and I do a fair bit of city driving as well as my dual carriageway drive to and from work. On long journeys I usually see 40-45 MPG.

Not great but better than the 19-23 mpg I used to get from my Ford Puma!

I cant see this turning into an argument, Im just interested in a comparison with the diesel. I just worked out on the calc mines actually doin 37 mpg dead even though the trip meter says slightly more but 37 im still happy with.
Im still loving my GPS it seems to get quicker with every mile I put on it, 1300 miles ive clocked up so far, I love the torqu n the little spool up of the turbo.
Parked it out the front of Fitness first other night and it looked awsome parked under the spotlights, I fell off the treadmill lookin at it through the window. Some low life scratched it last week, but its been sorted at the dealers now, so no drama.

I have an M-Jet and am getting 42mpg if I can hold my foot high and not do what the car wants and give it boost! If I do it goes down to 32mpg but man its fun.

I want to be honest I regret buying my M-Jet, its a quick car and certainly quicker than I need. Diesel is a con (£1.21 where I live) and the sluggish engine below boost is not responsive enough. I long for a petrol engine again but when I sell my GP I will be getting an all together slower petrol car like the Panda 1.1 or 1.2. (I already have an Active Sport GP that my mrs uses)

I drove the car before i purchased it and it is mint and perfect condition its just me, I think I am stupid. Will I ever learn. Never it seems.

I'm always really surprised when I read what economy figures people are getting from their M-Jet. Mine has 2500 miles on the clock and the computer shows an average of 48.5 mpg, with the trip A counter sometimes showing an average of 49.7 plus per tankfull.

I don't think that I drive incredibly carefully, I certainly enjoy the occasional bit of acceleration, and so hate to think how some people must be using their cars to return such low figures.

Taking it easy i am getting about 48mpg in my Mjet and i am more than pleased with the car and the economy. Only thing that annoys me really is the cost of diesel, though it is not quite as expensive in Liverpool as other parts of the country.(y)

Almost identical to what i get! i don't drive like a nun either. Not bad economy coz it will zip along at a fair old pace down the back roads! :slayer:

I filled up for £1.14.9 p / litre in L'pool yedterday, after passing numerous robbing garages en route asking for up to £1.29p / litre!

but what about other people in t-jets?! i want to know what kinda MPG they are getting? see if i drive really uneconomically or if phil j drives really economically!?

Both these cars are similar but made for different purposes. They dont compare really, you buy what suits your needs. :)

i know that! lol but me and phil j have both got t-jet's yet he is nearly gettin 10 more mpg than me, i just wanted to know what other t-jeters are returnin! to see if mines bad or his is really good mpg for a t-jet! :D

£1.29 a litre :bang: - Ouch that is absolute day light robbery, they should be shot.

Hay i have just had a thought! In this country (UK) we are very good at price fixing, so why can't they price fix the cost of diesel.

Here is an update on my earlier posting.

Whilst i was out and about today I was having a little play around with the on-board computer and here's what I discovered.

I was doing just under 60mph in 6th gear and Instant Consumption said i was getting (i think) about 57mpg. Average consumption at the same speed / same gear was reading 49.1mpg. Definitely cannot complain at that.

What's funny is if you decelerate slowly on-board computer reads instant consumption is 99.9, pity we couldn't get that all the time.

I drive a mixture of A / B roads and Motorways when travelling to work or going to my see my mate in Warrington and i generally manage to get 7 days out of a full tank of diesel.
