Hi,

I stay in Glasgow and I am looking to get my Multi-Jet (Grande) remapped?

Does anyone know of any places near me (around Glasgow or Edinburgh) that are good at remap's?

I used Angel Tuning for the remap on my previous Laguna 1.9DCi when them came to my work and done it in the car park. I wasn't overly convinced they could do a proper remap in a car park by not sticking it on a rolling road etc and getting the best out of the car and to be honest after the remap was extremely disappointed! I noticed little if any difference at all :(

This time I wanna make sure it's right and get the way hey feeling you all seem to get after your remaps that I never lol

Or anyone worth travelling too lol ?

My dad stays in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk and I am up and down alot so anywhere on route that I could pop into on my way down to my dads or on the way home again would be great?

drivers in glasgow do the tunit box they can be with you in the car while you drive it and can spread the power from the box where you want it via laptop very high tec.i got the box from tunit performance.com£427.its under bravo 130bhp tunit vcr box it does all fiat and alfas.i have 170bhp/280lbs torque now.its the car it should have now.give a try see how you get on.oh the tunit box.keeps the rev limiter intact and the ecu settings so it wont do any harm to the clutch or the engine.unlike a remap, clutch and engine can be a lot shorter

Its a shame you never told us you were disappointed with the Lamboona, however you seriously do not need an artificial test to tell you how the car drives, and any tuning company using a Dimtech rolling road can alter figures to please you - its how the car drives that is important.

We have done 9 GP Sportings in the last 3 weeks alone and have 4 booked in. We have developed mapping over the three software builds that have so far been UK released on these and as a previous customer you are entitled to decent discount as well. We are more than prepared to offer you a 14 day trial, if you are not happy in ANY way, tell us and we will return it to standard and you can go wherever you like.

Having covered well in excess of 200,000 miles of testing in GP Sportings now without a single hiccup (except on our own when we did the over-tune testing lol!) we know exactly how far these can be taken.

Again, sorry to hear you weren’t happy with your Laguna, had you told us we could have reconfigured the mapping and done something different with it or refunded you - its all in our T's and C's and we don’t argue the toss on a forum etc like some companies!!

sounds like a blooming great service to me... i shall definantly be having it done when i have the car looking how i want it to. :D

And me!!!! The guys at Angel know how pleased we are with how they transformed our Stilo - it's completely mad for a Diesel now!
In fact, it is one of the main reason I got rid of the HGT for the Grande, the lure of the remap is what clinched it for me.

I've talked to you through e-mail before, and I too will be calling you within the next month! seems this site will be full of 170bhp GP sportings! lol...

Yes, I've talked to Nige and he seems a decent chap with a true business ethic. The only reason I haven't had mine done yet is pure and simple: money!

I had to send my daughter on an intensive A-level revision course at Easter. I could have had TWO remaps for that price and a tank of fuel too!

All good things come to those who wait... and it gives me a goal to save for too!

 I have 2 questions:-

Will the remap damage your car in any way????? Short or long term?

Also whats to stop the fiat peeps noticing your ECU is off and resetting the bugga while its in for a service>?:yuck:

I do wanna have this done but im buggered if im paying for a remap to have the shagga destroy my car or be reset on the first service

Firstly, i wouldnt worry about the life of the engine. Diesels are very strong anyway and the chances are you will not have it long enough to see the results. Secondly, i had the same worry about it being reset. I spoke to a friend who is MD at a fiat dealership and he said that it is possible for this to happen but highly unlikely. He said the main problem is when you have running problems because they have to plug into it and apparently with a re-map the equipment throws a fit and will not read. The only way round this is to have it put back to standard.

As i say im taking someone elses word for this so if it is incorrect then please put me straight.

Rich

Re: Remap in Yorkshire

I would consider it... I'm not a world away from York...... but depends on when and cost... I was gonna get Angel tuning to come to me.. £325......

Nige also told me that if your ECU was set back to standard they would remap it again for just £50 (because they take a copy of before/after images of the chip so it's a very quick job).

Can't see the remapping damaging your engine unless you drive like a plonker anyway. Just because you have extra torque and power doesn't mean you're going to use it every second of your driving day. Just there when you need it. Nige told me this BTW but I'm sure he'll tell you this for himself...

Re: Remap in Yorkshire

A group buy may be an idea... we should start a new thread to try and get some numbers (I know at least another three on here thinking about Angel's remap) If we could get more than about 7, maybe they would consider a group buy discount :) (y)

edit: I live in the lake district, and know of some cracking drives around here, If we get a few numbers and want a meet, we could do a bit of a drive too.....
