It was pretty reliable and rust free. It did have a few troubles – including the head-gasket – but many of them were caused by my abuse.
Note the lack of driver’s side mirror. It had not fallen off, there was never one fitted ! This, and the lack of a heated rear screen, could make seeing behind difficult. I managed to fit a mirror to the quarterlight and someone gave me a heated screen kit and these add-ons made driving a lot safer.
