Fave game/ series.

NFSU games were great before that most wanted one,

I am again shocked. To me, Most Wanted is the 2nd best NFS after Hot Pursuit. Carbon and both Undergrounds, although by no means bad games, are missing a gulf of the superbness found in Most Wanted.

Each to their own and all that. How much MW did you play?

Streets of Rage though... Love 'em to bits.

i couldn't get in to most wanted...

IMO
UNderground 2 was the best

followed by Hot Pursuit.
then Most wanted..

followed by all the old ones

carbon was a waste of time if u ask me...

Tomb raider series for me with probably tomb raider 3 being my favourite, can't wait for tomb raider 8 in may/june.

Other games...
Devil may cry 1&3 lets forget about 2
All the gran turismos
Tekken series (awesome game when mates are round!)
Soul caliber series
Unreal tournament
GTA series
Shenmue 1 never played 2 unfortunately so can't comment
Final fantasy series

Could go on forever lol!

I remember playing that on the Megadrive at my neighbour's place when I was a kid - back then there was this shooting game (with a light gun) where you have to shoot ducks.. man do I miss those times!

Wow. You're the first person I've come across who didn't like Stranger's Wrath. Though not many bought it... Still, I'm quite amazed as everyone I've talked to who has played it absolutely loved it to bits. Myself included.

The problem for me was the main character. Some sort of hairy cowboy monster just didn't have the cuteness or goofiness that Abe and Munch had. You only had to see how Abe ran or tiptoed like he was straight out of cartoon, and also Munch hurtling around in his squeaky wheelchair when he was on land to see the humour and charisma that was in abundance in the first three games!

To be fair, I didn't get to play Stranger's Wrath much but I also wasn't drawn to it like I was with the first three of the series. The same applied to the group of friends I used to do gaming with. We all loved to get together and play Oddworld (it was just as good to watch as to play), but only one of my friends liked Stranger's Wrath. The rest of us didn't find it as appealing as the first three in the series, probably because we were all mourning the loss of Abe and Munch!

I also love my Oddworld yet Stranger's Wrath is my favourite. Munch's Oddysee didn't fulfil me with as much warmth as the others...

How could Munch's Oddysee not fill you with warmth?!!! Just look at the picture of the cute and cuddly Fuzzles at the bottom of this post! Remember how you could save them and then they'd follow Munch everywhere bouncing around behind him. Plus of course you could tell them to attack enemies and see them get all vicious like a bad tempered Jack Russell. And what about the dopey Meep that appear later on in the game!

I loved the original Bomberman games (y) before they went 3D (n)

Totally agree with Mark here. Super Bomberman was a great multiplayer game that me and my friends played to death. The four player mode was totally insane! Even ended up with three of us 'Bundling' one of said friends because he kept winning all the time! He couldn't beat us with three mates jumping on top of him :D

And Super Mario Kart was pretty much the same. Totally addictive in two player mode, but I never did work out how to do the 'drifting' round the corners :bang:

By the way, there've been four games in the Oddworld series but they originally said there was going to be five? What happend to the fifth in the series or is that not being released?

There was also talk of a fully fledged CGA Cartoon being made using Oddworld characters. Would be fantastic as Oddworld had all the characters, storylines, settings and graphics that would make a perfect transition to a feature length computer animated cartoons.

Bring back Abe and Munch!

(and the lovely Fuzzles as seen below :D )

iirc the dev team behind the series went their separate ways after strangers Wrath, a real shame because the oddworld games were so original and I doubt there'll ever be anything quite the same now.

ooh anyone remember destruction derby series? :D :slayer:

they should bring them back to life! want to play it now lol.
Have you not tried the flatout games, both 1 and 2 are available over steam. TBH if you play the 2nd one first you will hate the first as number two is just loads of fun, I haven't been entertained by this style of game that much in years, Flatout 2 is very underrated and there's loads of destruction Derby races in it (y)

yeah ive got flatout and it is good for a laugh but would still prefer to play destruction derby. there was something about that game that no other has captured in the same way.

might buy flatout 2! :chin:

Favourite series are either (oldskool);

Commander Keen
jazz Jack rabbit

or newer;

The Toca series (but controller issues on the PC take the edge off of an otherwise rilliant game).
EA F1 series

If I may add.

Best games I ever played were Ico, Freelancer and all of the Legend of Zelda games.

I prefer games by Nintendo, though certain developers can't do wonders. Does anyone remember the Command and Conquer series by Westwood Studios? Or how about the classic adventure games by Tim Schafer?

Hope this is still within topic - what's everyone playing now? I'm still about halfway through Bully on PS2.
