Hey all I've got a problem with my xbox live, I've got a Belkin wireless G router and I've now put a password on it (stealing neighbours!)..

before, my connection was alright, and I could hear people in party's and stuff

but now, my gameplay is top quality but when I enter a party the sound is glitchy and I can't hear people although they can hear me.

I've changed the 'DMZ' which is the nat setting on my router to allow the IP of xbox to pass through and every time I do that, it dissconnects me from live!

So I'm stuck.. and xbox help didn't help either :(

There ya go. Make sure you have set a static IP though - through the xbox360 itself. Then on your router (Netgear, Belkin etc) allow port forwarding to that IP address. - If I were you I'd set the Xbox 360 to 192.168.x.9 (x depends on router, could be 0,1, or 2...)
Having read the user manual I can't seem to find a function for port forwarding on my router (it's a Belkin Mimo G+ or something)

Routers are a nightmare!!!! And Venomco

It should just work ok really. There is a "cheat" style code using the controller to reset everything

Well what happens now is that it logs in perfect and the connection is fine but when I'm in a party (regardless whether I'm in a game) the voices are really glitchy, although they're able to hear me fine.. which is unusual because as soon as I'm out of the party the voice connection is fine...?!

I've enabled the xbox IP to go through the NAT firewall ( 'DMZ' on my belkin) and I've also allowed all the computers in the house through MAC address filtering function, I've also opened a few other things (I forget the abbreviations, as I'm at work) and it is still the same... Am I correct in thinking the problem with the party connection is due to the WEP on the router?

will sort out absolutely every problem you have with live :)

I had problems connecting to parties private chats certain games.

now with a bit of port forwarding Everything works and it works a lot quicker than it used to (y)
Well I've done all of that, made my xbox static IP entered the tiscali settings into it as it wasn't finding the router, then opened the ports on the router. And now it's saying the MTU setting isn't high enough when it is set to 1492 and it only asks for 1364 minimum?!?!?!:bang:

Ok so now it connects, it doesn't say there's any problems with NAT or anything, but partys still don't work :(
