Ok

This is something that has been bothering me for a while now, whenever I have the radio turned down either low enough to hear noises coming from the car or the radio switched off I can hear a noise coming from my steering wheel. Its not a constant noise but it appears occasionally when I am turning - its a hard to explain noise, its kinda electrical sounding and generally happens when I am just moving the steering wheel fractionally whilst on a full/partial lock.

Dont have an idea what the hell it is so thought perhaps somebody else might know what the hell it is.

Cheers

Mine does this strange noise aswell, and my steering column rattles.
I found on yahoo, 100 replies, to a problem with the power steering in Fiat Puntos, especially those fitted with City mode.
Apparenty, the power steering is shite, and when it starts to go, it takes the ECU with it.
I think my car has had a new power steering bit replaced, and it rattles coz it wasn`t tightened properly. It only done 50 miles in a year between servicing, and a load of warning lights came on during the test drive, which is another sign of the ECU going tits up.
Obviously I didn`t know all this before I bought it, but i`m taking it back to FIAT when my warranty papers come through
