Finally...I can rid the laptop of crappy old windows 8.

I'm registered to get it, but have had no word yet that it is downloading or when it will.

Can't be much worse than 8.

"upgraded" to 8.1 and it's arguably even worse after the patch! slow, clumsy and worst of all, prone to having the mouse pointer just randomly lock for anywhere between 2 and 45 minutes (a common 8 issue it seems).

Good riddance.

8 was terrible.

My relatively new laptop has been nothing but **** from the off. Saw 8 at my mates earlier and had the notification to say it was ready. Upgrading atm

I'm still on windows 7 and will keep it for now until all the bugs with 10 are sorted out or the laptop dies. Whatever comes first

7 was very, very good.

There was nothing wrong at all with it, they pretty much hit the sweet spot IMO.

Sadly my laptop with it died and the new one came pre-installed with 8 . it was crap but i sort of got used to it but liked the sound of a few features that had been brought back in from 7 for 8.1, so made the mistake of upgrading to that. It's been a total disaster.

My 7 laptop though hasn't seen the last of life by any means, updates on that soon (people will be surprised at this one )

Finally, after over 14 hours of downloading and updating, i'm running 10.

It is so, so, so much better than 8 already.

Will wait and see how it develops and how bug free it remains, but there is already absolutely nothing i miss about 8.

I'm really pissed off with the Win 10 pop-up now. It's gone from asking me if I want to upgrade to suggesting a date for the upgrade and now actually telling me when the upgrade will happen with no option to say **** off and leave me alone

I don't need the upgrade as I have an operating system that works nicely for me. Now I have to waste my time going through the hassle of removing an intrusive pop-up icon I didn't want in the first place!

**** you microsoft. I've always hated Apple but you may just have finally converted me to Macs

I quite like 10 now. Finding my way around it nicely, quick to boot up and shut down, not too many updates. All good from me.

Oh I'm sure it's a perfectly decent OS but so is Win 7. I don't appreciate having something that I don't need or want foisted upon me simply because they ****ed up so badly with Win 8

10 is good, but 7 is still better. If i had to choose between them then i'd pick 7 for the foreseeable future.

Having used 10 for some time now, I have to say. I hate it.

The single biggest thing being this seemingly unstoppable auto update pish. 'Now looks like a good time to restart, so we're going to restart'

No wonder they gave this away free.
