i was looking at donnylads post on pevious page after seeing claymores car are the hgt and the merea engine the same i have the hgt want to know which sc is the best and how much and what needs to be done to it.

yeah they are the same, which do you have? a 155 or 147 as we have 147's i imagine it might be easy with a 155 cos it can just be mapped to run a SC straight off instead of all the messing with a piggy back chip.

if you want sumat different try this.

get a manifold off a coupe turbo a then a TD04 turbo off an imprezza take them to have the flanges suited and stick that on, plum an oil feed from ure sump into the trubo and then have it mapped i can assure you from what ive been hearing about this turbo you wont be disspleased at all they can run low boost but still give good power, its what they use on after market conversions so its not going to kill ure engine will cost about the same as supercharging aswell. just abit easyer thats all.

for supercharging use:
what you need:

Eaton M45 SC (mini cooper s)
intercooler
2' of angle iron
drill
grinder
piping
dump valve
20vt MAF or something similar

the whole lot can be had for about £400 like colin said.

make sure to put then in this sequence though so as to not have any problems with blowing pipe work,

air filter
MAF
throttle body
supercharger
intercooler
inlet
the DV will go after the MAF aswell i believe. colin has pics to of the build so if you ask hm nicelty i bet he will post some up.

hope that helps

what sort of power will i get and on his video it sound like it stalls then starts again

colins makes 185bhp unmapped so if you use that as a base gestimate i think you would be safe

its just running abit funny on tickover till mapped i believe

to turbo the car what you do is this:

now you have had the manifold altered cut that on now get a 18mm t-piece that will go into the oil preasure switch in the back of the engine fasten this in, now pull pipe work through to the turbo's feed and then a pipe down to ure sump have a hole drilled and tapped to accept another 18mm end now ure plugged in its just a matter of plumbing the intercooler in and having a new downpipe made up. make sure ure turbo is in good knick though because its alot of money for a dudd turbo lol

Donny... you really dont have a clue. you can not 'just' bolt a subaru turbo on and job done.

2xHLX owner,3xHGT, (then the darkside) 1xCoupe20vt now the proud owner of a Black Coupe20vt LE!

lol its been done lol

its the turbo that is used in all low boost conversions paul trust me on that it runs on a 5pot anyways and a zetec

ok, do it then. Someone should have pointed that out to fit when they spend millions developing the 20vt engine, would have saved them so much money.

lol the 20vt is a better engine for big power obviusly lol but for a conversion you cant knock them they are becuming the eaton M45 of the turbo's lol

thanks for the info m8 ill start savin now and get bit by bit

yeah well i'm fitting a gto twin turbo setup to my hlx 115. will be the fastest in the country. was thinking bout trying Donny's method.. kinda named project "Blue Peter Car" for obvious reasons.
Donny what problems did u have running your charger then? seems if 400 if about right...surely you would have been better going down that route? surely the cams would not have interfered that much espicially if your going to run a dastek??

the easyest way to put it is

i drive our lasses ford car down at the units sometimes yeah a 1.3 8v slow as ****

i test drove that car and it didnt feal as fast as it should.

it would tickover at all like colins wouldnt at first

it sometimes wouldnt rev over 5000rpm

it just didnt sound rght iether

no but when Supercharging the 5pot withought moving the throttle it creates to much preasure on tick over and blows pipes off i can say this from the experience of me and colin

Then move the throttle, its not hard. Do it right rather than botch it.

true i only did it the other way to test if it actualy worked at the time i wasnt sure cos of all the other stuff id done, the best place for it is on the bottom left side in the bumper

sorry if i have started anything off i was curious of what i could do to my hgt 155

leave the throttle body where it is, and yes you do need a bov or recirc valve the excess boost has to go somewere
