Well as Im aware, you aint got one, but you have a distributor flap just on the air filter box - 2 pipes coming to it

What does this flap do????... also when i replaced my airbox back to standard cos some silly arse put a bmw cone on there i put these brown and black i thinnk wire/pipes back on the airbox and donno if i put them the right way around!?

Take your pick.

You have two options!

1. Inlet Air Temperature Control Valve.

This is found in the air filter box, with two pipe connectors on the outside. According to Haynes, the brown end fitting goes to the lower connector.

2. Injector/Air inlet Tempertature Sensor.

This is located near the top of the throttle body/injector unit.

Hope this helps.

Forgot about the flap!

As far as I am aware, the flap is controlled by the intake sensor. The flap is adjusted automatically (if it's working properly), depending on the air temperature and controls the hot/cool air mix. For example, it will be fully open when the engine is cold to allow maximum hot air (from the hot air feed) through for starting/warming up and will gradually adjust to a cooler mix as the engine warms up.

Cheers alex u know your stuff i shall have them both checked out on monday. u could have saved me some seriouse money......
