Hi, I'm having problems with the intrument panel on my Brava. Speedo, Mileometer, temp and fuel gauge all work erratically, they seem to come on after a while, but that's not really good enough.

I've taken the panel out and checked the plugs but that doesn't seem to help.

Does anyone think that I'm going in the right direction if I get hold of a cheap panel and simply replace the existing one or is there some other connection I could try?

Cheers

i got same problems on mine,i press on the plastic cover over dials and its ok for a while,if u find the culprit pls post your findings,i have had mine apart before and could,nt find anything, just cant be bothered doing it again

I bought a cheap second hand instrument panel off ebay - £22 inc postage - and it is working fine now, so it must be something electronic in the panel itself. Shame that the panel I have bought has done 70K miles more than the original ;-( but at least it will pass the MOT now.

Wimmy forgot to add - the same process can be done on all gauages and the main part are the screws (if missing) they are the reason why the dials start to jump.

Hi,

If your panel is going erractic (all gauges go crazy at the same time), the problem can be related to a bad ground connection, among other falts.
Check all ground points, including connectors and look for loose ground points fasteners or welds joints.

Hope this will help you.
