Haha, had a bit of a race wit a typeS this morning, right knob driving it. He was cutting up the traffic like there was no tomorrow. Anyway i was in a bit of a rush myself so when this knob decided to play on my track that was it!. From wisbech to huntingdon he over took me twice in suicidle fashion, i just waited for a decent gap in the on coming traffic to draw him in again. In the end i just thought f**k you i'am off so i floored it with a big grin see'ing him disapear in my rear view mirror.
The point i wanted to make is, i bet the driver wished he saved a few more pennies for the tyreR as the typeS he had was slow compared to my hgt which is 7 years older.

lol, I do see where you're coming from.

Today I was stuck on the M1 in the usual traffic and in the middle lane I was sat.
I just looked to my right and there were 2 fit birds in this brand new Corsa dancing to some tunes, I just laughed (Me in my Bora) and as the traffic started off again she tried flooring the Corsa.. Well, did I bother? Did I heck, I just had to giggle to myself as she thought that her brand new car that she probs got with a student loan is cool with her 'hip' tunes.

Says me who's just come back in from driving around listning to Will Smith - Miami ;)

The Type S driver can't have been trying.

He's got huge 2bhp more than you as well!

was it definately a type s? Im sure it was only made in 5 door form with the detuned 2.0 engine. There are many civic Sports on the road which look similar to the type r but with smaller wheels. They are a 1.6 with about 110bhp

Definatly a typeS lads, there 2 litre, same as the typeR but detuned to be insurance friendly.
Believe me this guy was going for it alright, my car was dynoed at 156bhp a couple of years ago if that helps.
I just wanted to point out that the typeS is a waist of money.

why is it a waste? its cheaper than a typeR, and its actually possible for someone under 25 to insure it without a lottery win. 'Most' cars have a reason for existing, even the Nova has a function, though i wish it didn't. its not meant to be a typeR, otherwise, well, it'd be a type R.
and age is not a relevant factor either. A 20 year old cossie would rip my 6 yr old 1.8 bravo to bits in a race..

I think he means that you can pick up a HGT for a little over a grand these days where as a Type S is gonna cost you about seven times this for similar performance.
Type 'S was just a way for Honda to shake off its Grandad image, as you said the 'R was a good attempt but few under 25's could insure it, at least they now have some younger customers. :)

oh, i get ya now... well its a point i guess, though i suppose styling and brand image come into it too. believe it or not, bravo's aren't to everyones taste. seems i was a bit harsh though. my apologies...

personally, i doubt my next car will be a bravo :( they are all getting a little old now, although pricewise they are very very very good value.
