Had a problem a few months back where occasionally the car would lose power, it would accelerate but only slowly. The car had just been for a service, i do not know if the problem is linked to this, i twiddled the HT leads and the problem went away. After a couple of months the problem is now back, i'm going to get some new leads tomorrow, i assume they are the original leads, anything else i should try?

I had a power issue, felt like the choke was sometimes on, it happened after I cleaned my air filter and used a little too much oil. I think it fouled the MAF for a while. A change of plugs seemed to help too, but i think they got black from the rich mixture caused by a drowned air sensor.

no, it runs normally when no power. It just feels like i've got into a smaller engine car.

It's all standard engine wise so they should have relpaced air filter and plugs at that time.

had a little ride out today. Runs smooth at tickover, if you push it to accelerate it jurks a bit. No warning lights.

I have been playing under the bonnet and i did notice that if you rev it a little it takes a while for the revs to settle back to tickover.

Thats normal, if the revs drop too quickly the engine lets out nasty gasses that hurt hippies and baby seals.

Does it always start first time?

@ Tom - you come out with some great comments at times...lol

You must not hurt baby seals, otherwise their skin won't make good coats ;)

starts 100% a ok.

After a bit of a performace with a member of staff at halfords i ordered some HT leads from a local garage. May not cure it but i figure they are still the origonals so it cannot hurt
