Does anyone know whether the green cotton twister filter is any good on the bravo. anyone know of power/torque gains and any sound difference.

Chris The green twisters look cool and sound cool. The thing about cone filters is that to your average normaly aspirated 1.6L car a cone filter is never gonna make a massive difference. Even with a good stainless performace exhaust. You'll notice a difference if you do both together performance wise you'd be looking at about 4-6 BHP with both. Sound wise a cone filter like the green will sound great. It will give a sort of throaty roar to your engine bay and the Greens are not too expensive eiter.

If you want better performance get a forced air induction kit like mine (or the Pipercross viper/new even bigger viper) with a ram pipe. Bit more money but better perfomance.

On turbo'd and big engined cars (Particularly Japanese cars like, Supras & Skylines) An air filter can give 20+ bhp and even more!

Thats why my next car will be Japanese!

Cheers rob. I've been looking more though and have decided on the viper, its only £10 more, is bigger and comes with a carbon fibre heat sheild and a ram pipe.

Sounds like a bonus to me, hopfully should see a 6-7bhp increase. What do you think???

When you've got the exhaust sorted asuming you're gonna get one. You'll probably get something more like 15 bhp as the viper is a serious bit of kit. I think One of the HGT boys bought one?

Any one know who it was? if it was you waht sort gains did you get!

Not sure about that Rob, minirob got one, but if there is an HGT owner out there with one, i'd like to know what they think about it. That'll be this terms student loan gone

Hoping for a powerflow some time in the new year but its £230 catback so a little more saving time yet. i might stop buying my baby nappies for a while until i can afford one. Well, maybe not..

yeah iv got the viper, itsa very nice1 but iv had to order a bigger one as i didnt realise that the pipe from the throttle body goes smaller at one end!

one thing i can say is its hard to fit in its so big! [thats what she said!] im gonna have to remove the plastic arch lining around the passenger wheel and fit it from underneath!

not sure about power gains? i also have a powerflow [de-cat'd] and im gonna get it on the rollers in january when my student loan comes through!

any suggestions on good tuning garages? and what i should get done performance wise. i was thinking about getting the ecu re-mapped to burn slightly more fuel to justify the exhaust and induction kit but im no expert so any tips are muchos appreciated amigos!

pps cant make it to the christmas meet as its my 21st a coupla days after and my folks want me to have a party on the sunday, might try and make it to the NvS cruise though,

Not sure about what Si? If you mean the crazy BHP figures. A mate of mine had a Escort 1.8si and the viper made a massive difference. I took me out in the car before and after. I quite fancy one but there is another one I want at the mo. On saying that I want to get my rear bumper sorted in the next couple of weeks.

big al the answer to your question on price for a viper- about 230 with air feed and about 190 without.
i got myne with and payed 195 but that was off a friend who can wangle certain prices for me ;o]

I may be wrong but.

You can buy a universal Viper kit with ram pipe for just £85+Vat in numerous different sizes. so long as you dont mind pissing about fitting it which i dont.

Please correct me if i'm wrong.

hmmmmmmmm works out at about £110 inc vat and delivery! sounds to good to be true? if its genuine then id go for it obviously as iv already paid 195!
