155/ hgt

The 155 hgt is a later version - released in April 1999 - there isnt much actual difference other than the badging - and some have more expensive insurance.

The options available are different and thats about it..........some have slightly more power - not sure specifically about the hgt tho

Re: Re: 155/ hgt

Funny you should say that Al!! I'm def interested in the Uno Turbo.

Which Turbo is on it any details would be great Tony.

What was the original post about?? hahah

Re: Re: Re: 155/ hgt

The difference is the HGT is slightly less powerful then the 155.

I think there is about 8BHP in it.

Si could tell you better than me though.

155 HGT

The later 155 HGT has, as the name implies an output of approx 155 bhp. The earlier version had around 148. Also the engine managment is different with the very last models also being fitted with variable valve timing.

I am told that those with VVT are not really suitable for modifications to the power output - but Si would probably be a better person to advise on this.

Prices for earlier HGTs can be around £3k - the latest up to £8.5k. There is currently a W low mileage on sale at a local dealer for £7.7k

155 v 147

The 155 as its name suggestes is the later 155bhp model. With VVT and Super Unleaded it can (and I stress can - not always does!) reach 170bhp.

The last 25 imported into the UK had an uprated engine management system including a download port to enable diagnositics, tuning and police download as you will soon be nicked for speeding by lap top.

So really there were 3 types, the first 2 being solid dependable and genreally very reliable quick cars. The last 25 are a different story! Yes they are very quick, yes they can be set up well, but if your dealer gets it wrong because they didn't know what it was....then you can be killed. Bitter experience shows through here!

Beware any HGT built in December 2000 just before the end of production.

Hops that helps

Re: 155 v 147

I took delivery of my HGT in Feb 2001, how can I tell if its one of the last 25 to be imported?

Last HGT's

The last HGT's were registered in November / December 2000. All are Broom Yellow and are suffixed XEU, XEB or XEG. The only other difference is after the first service...it will run like shite unless the dealer knows what it is. Basicaly, thats anyone outside of Bristol or Maidenhead apparently.

You will not have a 2001 HGT, production stopped on November 14th 2000, same as the Coupe, the fun and games took place in the last 2 weeks of November. Christ knows what kit thoses last Coupe's have on them, but it would be fun to have one!

I know this is probably not a lot of help, I dont know much beyond what my local Fiat Service Manager has told me about this. If yours fits in then send me an e-mail and I will give you all I know about the set up.
