Hi everyone. I have a problem in that every time I take my car for a run and the engine heats up e.g. down to the shops, I can't get it started again after closing the engine down. When I come back out of the shops, say, it just won't start until the engine cools down again.

Tonight I had to wait about 30 minutes for the engine to cool down to get going again. A friend has suggested a faulty hot valve start but he didn't know if FIAT used such a valve.

Does anyone have any ideas or similar experiences. It's driving me mad!!!

Many thanks in advance.

try relay switch

I had this problem on a astra before it was due to a relay switch amongst the fuses it would get hot and then fail when the car cooled down it would start again then die half way home.Give your local main fiat dealer a ring and ask to speak to a mechanic then pic there brains as this is free to take the car for diagnosis is not if this does not work try an auto electrical place they can be very good and reasonable on price hope this is the problem as it is cheap and simple to fix your self.Good luck

Thanks Jamie

I'll call and ask to speak to a mechanic.

Hot Starting

HI, I saw that you had the problem solved with a temperature switch, Ive got the same problem and the garage replaced a heat sensor. Unfortunately it is still not starting hot, is the heat sensor another name for a temperature switch?
