Hello, I have a brava 1.6 sx. The airbag warning light has been lit for 4 days constantly -for no reason. Any ideas of the cost of getting this checked & what it could be?
The airbag warning light decided to stay on from this morning on my '00 HGT. Yet another thing to go wrong on this piece of Fiat crap! I am off to check that the wheels are still round as they are probably the only thing left that hasn't got a problem.....yet!
yours should be under warranty if its a 2000 car, we run a fleet of fiats and found them more reliable than fords or vauxhalls or rovers we had previously...so we definately cant agree that fiat are crap...we are most impressed.
Jon...its only my HGT that is crap. I also have a 1.4sx Bravo and that is faultless! The air bag is only the latest of grief I have had over the first 5,000 miles since April! It is under warranty for 3 years (I have owned many Italian cars and I would do anything less!!!) but I need the car to drive around the country in so it has to go back to Fiats when I can fit them in and not when the car bloody well wants to go!
(I do actually quite like driving it, it is just the poorest reliability on a new car I have had in the last 7 years!)
As for Vauxhalls and Fords I can't comment as I have not had one since a company Granada back around '94.
we had a similar problem in 1993. we had a fleet of rover 418's all of the base models were good as gold, but the top model i had (GSD Turbo) was in the garage for 5 months out of the 1st 7 of its life and i was left driving a metro loan car...I was not amused. Hope u dont have anywhere near the problems i had with that car...mind u after the probs were sorted it went on to so 170k in 27 months then we got shot.
Jon
I feel sorry for you m8, my HGT has been faultless in 72,000 miles.
It's a reall pisser when you get a bad 'un it put's you off the make for life.
I had that with a Honda Motorbike and I wouldn't buy another ever. Shame cos some of their bikes are gorgeous.
I think it was made on a Friday when it was bonus pay day before a bank holiday weekend! Still, I should have smelt a rat when I bought it new for £11,500 from a Fiat dealer, they obviously knew something!
Cheers
had the same problem for a few months, passed its mot though, i dont fancy the cost of just having it checked out so if you find out the answer drop us a line.
The airbag light came on in my 1.4 sx and since it was under warranty, Fiat changed the chip but it started to happen again after a few days. It turned out to be the alternator in the end and was easily rectified!
