Join us on a walk through the Lake District, one of Britain's National Parks. The walk takes in Haweswater, a stunning manmade reservoir and High Street, a roman road from Penrith to Ambleside.

Meet at the Haweswater car park at the end of the road at 9am to be ready to set off at approximately 9.30am. The car park is at the end of the valley near the village of Bampton - midway along the valley is a hotel, postcode CA10 2RP. It is approximately 25 minutes from Penrith, or j40 of the M6. You can find the location on the map above (you can also zoom out and click on OS map to see the surrounding area where we'll be walking). Those coming would be wise to car share (at least the last leg of the journey) as this is a small car park and is often full on summer weekends.

I'm proposing two routes - one easier and one harder, will see how many want to go first and levels of fitness before we decide. If you add yourself, please post up what kind of experience you have to help decide. If there aren't many/ everyone prefers an easier route then we'll just have one (y)

Please note that I am simply asking some friends on a walk - neither myself nor Fiatforum takes any responsibility or liability for injury or loss - everyone is responsible for themselves and having the correct equipment, clothing and food/ drink. If you're new to this, myself and other experienced walkers can make some recommendations later (y)

Helz, I would love to be there.

Unfortunatly, I will be around 8 months pregnant with this little one and not sure how far i would make it.

Will have to sort something out at that really nice pub in durham as well :D
