Hi,

I'm having some problems with my 2003 Ducato JTD (1997cc 62kw 84hp rhv) motorhome.

I've purchased an OBD2 scanner, but the port is not compatible. The port on the van is a yellow in-line 6-pin (see image). Does anyone know where I can obtain an adaptor ?
There's a picture of the connector on the van at http://woodmail.co.uk/fiat/IMG_3232.jpg

Any help appreciated.

Hi Keith,

Welcome to the forum.

Are your sure that you looking at the right connector?

I am only aware of two types of OBD port being used on the Ducato.

Earlier vehicles (x230?) used a 3 pole connector with, I understand, only two poles connected? This connector was fitted close to the ECU, near the air filter. x244 and later models use a standard OBD2 port, behind a cover, near the drivers knees on RHD vehicles.

The connector that you have linked to is a Delphi 6 pole hybrid, with the inner two poles taking 2.8 series inserts, and the outer 4 poles accepting 1,5 series inserts. An example of this connector, also colour coded yellow, is used on the x244 for cruise control, and air conditioning options. It is located behind the LH cab fusebox.

A warning. Unfortunately from what I have read on this and other forums, your scanner may not fully communicate with the ECU. I underatand that "You need something that speaks fluent Fiat". The software package Multiecuscan, is frequently mentioned in this context,
