opted for a dab single din pioneer unit
Yeah , i was looking at a single din , flip screen , myself . It was one of only a few that had a particular feature i wanted . However the reviews slated it for reliability , and warned of little , to no aftercare service , so i eventually plumbed for a Kenwood double din . I had come across it by accident during my search , and though it actually cost twice as much (bearing in mind the single din was not cheap) , i did feel much better about it . Of course being a double din did cause extra issues , but I've had Kenwood's before , and they are very good , plus they are reliable . It's an older 2020 model , chosen purely because it had that feature i wanted , plus a cd player . 2021 models don't seen to have this feature , instead relying on streamed , or ipod music . Pioneer's are really good , i've had them as well , but as with any radio , pay particular attention to the speakers , they are the important bit . I'm also replacing my old aerial for an electronic unit , but to be honest , the old one was falling off the screen anyway .
Hmmm , i'm sorry , but in my experience dab is overrated . I often have that service in the trucks , i drive , but frankly i always plumb for fm . Dab sound is clean , but i feel too clean , sometimes even hollow . However , get into a weak area (and there are quite a few) , and it becomes a totally different animal . The tuner spends more time altering the frequency , than actually playing music , and i've even had problems with bridges , like the old am reception we used to have .
So your asking about viewing angle , well i'll be honest here , it won't be outstanding will it . However , my feeling is it will be sufficient . The screen does have an adjustable tilt feature , but even so how often will you actually need to look at it . The gps speaks to you while driving , though yes , there are times when you will want to view it , and what's there to see , once it's tuned .
I learnt to plastic weld , same technique used , to repair a bumper . Actually , i learnt the skill to repair my own bumper , however it wasn't till i started , that i realised it was in a worse state than i thought . To be brutally honest it was scrap , but i worked on it methodically , and brought it back . Took me three days though , but that skill saved me nearly 800 quid . New bumpers cost over a grand , but i spent a bit getting the tools , and materials . It's in paint right now , or at least it would be , if i could get a decent enough day to actually paint it . The dashboard has cost me nothing , the materials were left over from the bumper work .
