Lower alternator swivel bolt loose but won't come out. Has come out about a cm but then clunks against something. What is stopping it?
Also, is there enough room to remove the alternator down past the subframe, driveshaft and steering box?

I've got the alternator disconnected but can't get it out. Any advice?

Mine failed in the outback a few years ago... Got into nearest small town and had new one freighted (4 days) and was fitted by local garage who knew nothing about Fiats. I helped him do the change over - a pig of a job! We also had great difficulty with the tightness of the area but by much wobbling and shoving eventually found a way out and back in! It did help to have two sets of hands. Hopefully a once in a lifetime job!!

Any update?
I looked at eLearn. It just say undo 3 bolts at alternator after removing the belts.
Any progress? Keep us updated please.
The eLearn instructions are vague. It is a tight engine bay.
