Hi all!

Hopefully a really simple one to answer. As per the title, where is the rear 12v socket? I'm not sure whether my van (2015 x290) has one, but it has the fuse so I figure I should check whether I'm just missing it before installing one.

If it doesn't have one, I wonder if it would be possible to wire off the existing fuse/wiring setup? Anyone have any idea?

Cheers :D

There is an indent in the black plastic grille panel on the offside rear corner.

The 12v socket fits in there after cutting the right size hole. There is a connection already in the loom at this point.
You then need to buy the proper parts from Fiat so that you can connect to the loom. I am not sure but when I got one it wasn`t overly expensive.

I never actually made my socket live because I then found that you need to get the correct relay and fuse for the fusebox. ( Van is currently for sale on Ebay )

There might be a thread on this topic from a while ago if you go looking.

Another idea is to run a new wire direct from the battery through a new in line fuse. Main dealer mechanic did that to my 2007 Ducato because it came form the factory without the pre ordered socket.

Thanks Joiner! I will take a look tonight and see what I can do. I did manage to dig out the older thread here (good memory!) which is indeed helpful.

My 2017 Ducato had the rear cigarette lighter wiring however ‘dead’.
After some hunting I found that the underbonnet fuse block had an allocated relay position without relay plus an allocated fuse position without fuse. A quick trip to a breakers yard provide both a standard fit Fiat relay and a fuse. As mine is a campervan I bought campervan style wall mount socket, easily wired in.
Job done.

You can buy the sockets on ebay for about £2 and plug them into the existing wiring.
Or when you buy a new Ducato you can specify them as an optional extra for £40 + vat
Same as a lot of other things that used to be standard are now an optional extra, like the cab shelf and glove box.
Yet other things that were optional are now standard. Like the steel bulkhead. When we took that out to convert it into a camper I was shocked to see half the trim had been cut out to accommodate the steel bulkhead. Ended up fitting the trim from my old X2/50 into the X2/90. Complete with cab shelf and glove box.

Sorry to bring back an old post but I have a 71 plate Ducato (badged a Citroen Relay) that has dead cabling to the rear 12v socket but they have changed things again. I have read you need F09 in the engine bay fusebox and a relay but F09 is no longer used (no terminals).

Anyone know how to enable the 12v to the rear on the new vans? Cheers...
