Greetings,
Before I start investigating myself I thought I would ask here first.
Our 2005 Ducato X244 on a recent trip had an issue with the braking lights.

Every time we hook up the Toad we check the rear lights before setting out. On the last stretch before home the brake lights were not working on the Toad or the MoHo. I know the bulbs are OK because when coupled and I press the Toad pedal all the brake lamps illuminate, (needs a one way diode to prevent this I know).
And now without the Toad attached the MoHo brake lights are not working either.
I’m thinking maybe the brake light switch has burned out in the MoHo (We did do a lot of downhill driving and braking where the Toad would have been pushing and causing the brake lights to be on for long periods).
Any Ideas, anybody had similar problems, could it be a blown fuse?

Fixed for now but will need investigating as to why it happened.

I'm glad it was the stop light fuse because I first decided to check out the switch, looks like Fiat built the van after the switch was fitted as it rotates to free it from its mounting bracket then needs 25mm plus to withdraw it from the bracket but the clearance between the end of the switch and the steel work around the steering column is about 3mm therefore not enought room for it to be withdrawn.:bang:
Or am I missing something, I could not see anything that could be easily removed that would help.

Anyway stop lights working on MoHo now.

No problem with the Ducato. A oneway diode in the towing cable should cure it, fingers crossed.(y)

Bit late to the party....but I'm struggling to get hthe brake light switch out- it seems dynamite is the only way.I could drill out the pop rivets that hold the mounting plate, but they can't be got at either. Toatally stiched up by welded framework. Breaking the old switch will get it out, but the new one won't go in! Anyone know owt about this?
