Seem to have problem with spanner icon on dashboard. Last serviced
May 2009 and no service due yet. Unable to reset following vehicle manual. Since it appeared the clock & trip displays have started to zero on odd occasions without my help! Is this connected? Can anyone help please.

I had a similar problem, it would reset the clock back to 00.00 although I am not sure about the trip meter as I don't really use it that often. But I noticed that it was actually occuring when starting the engine after sitting for a few days or more. When the ignition was turned on, initially the clock read the correct time but after starting the engine it had reset itself back to 0.00. It turned out the battery was on the way out & it was only a month or so later that it died completely, but I did not have a problem with setting the service indicator etc using the procedure stated in the owners manual after the new battery was installed & no further problem with the clock.

When you come to reset make sure your on mileage and not trip hold in the button turn the ignition off the on until you see cfc flash on the dash, release button until nuber changes then hold in until it stops flashing. This should do the trick.
