Hi,

Wondering if any1 can help me with my van:cry:. Its a 2.8 jtd common rail diesel . Which will not start.

Injector light stays on. Injection system fault.

Fiat carried out diagnostics check & stated that the it was the high presure pump (not the 1 in the tank). Ive changed this to no avail.

Checked wiring.
checked fuses,
checked for bent pins (connections to/from injectors & pump)
timing belt,
fuel (1/2 a tank) and it does come through to injection pump..
had injectors tested,
key code light comes on and goes off all as normal:bang:

Despite the fact the van is the same as a Citreon relay, peugeot boxer, Ive been told that only Fiat can check diagnostics.

Im reluctant to take it back to Fiat again.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried resetting the Fuel Safety inertia switch (deactivates the axiliary pump that feeds the injection circuit) located in the engine bay on the firewall near the battery although if you are getting fuel from the tank pump it probaby is not this as it cuts off the fuel from the tank pump. But I get the impression that its not the only thing it does????
Simply press the switch until it clicks home to restore the auxiliary pump earth connection. As someone else on the forum has said after they reset the switch the injection light went out although I think in their case the engine was still operational just got rid of the lnjection light, worth a try!!!
High pressure injection pump what did that cost? - think the garage should have paid for that.
Maybe the previous post (ducato 2.8jtd injector light & glow light fault) should try it too.
Cheers

Hi,
Thanks for this. Yes have tried this to no avail. What was strange that im almost sure it did click when I pressed it. But this did not deactivate the lighgt or start the engine. Every time since I checked the switch and its always held in which is the correct position. £150 for pump 2.5 hrs to change over doodle as you dont have to touch the timing.

Cheers

Sorted. Got an auto electrican out to have check of the diagnostics. The fault as found was a missing fuse for the injection system supply. I think I must hae removed it when one had blown on me other van. Changed the fuel pump (as this was the fiat diagnosed fault) 2 months later & forgot all about the missing fuse.

Bingo.... The thing that was strange was the the key code symbol light never came on at all..... Fiat might have removed it when carrying out there checks??
