My cigar lighter stopped working about 6 months ago.
I've checked the 20 AMP fuse (F44) and its fine.
Anybody had the same problem?

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

You should probably check the wiring going to the lighter if it's not the fuse, pop your head up by the gearstick housing if you can and have a look, failing that put your hand up there keeping it to the side (The gearstick mechanism is in the middle) and have a feel. If you can't get up there you can have a go at taking it off:

1: Unscrew 4 screws under steering wheel by the tilt adjustment lever
2: Undo two hex screws underneath glovebox door (open it and you'll see them on the right)
3: Undo two hex screws exposed by removing steering wheel under cover
4: Wiring to cigar lighter will be revealed

Failing this, I would assume that the actual ligter element in the removable part has failed :)

On my wife's Cargo JTD SX there is a cigar lighter and also a 12v accessory socket, one either side of the gear stick. I suspect they are probably wired up in parallel. Does yours have the accessory socket? Does it work?

Like R.T. says....... "Let us know how you get on"..... especially Ozzie....... he worries :spin: you know........ can't get a good nights sleep until he knows we're all ok....:)

:p

 Right that's it, i'm going into hiding! LOL!

I shall have you know that I realise I'm never going to live down the things I say :D Like "welcome the forum", and "let us know how you get on"!

We'll need to start a new thread soon called "Throw Abuse At Ozzie For The Things He Says" :p :D

Flaming thing's never worked on mine - as I don't smoke I've never needed it until know. (portable DVD player for number 1 son).

Ozzie -it's only affectionate you know, it's nice to have someone so enthusiastic. Keep it up:eek: (ooer missus)
