Hi just joined so I am a newbie to this. I have a new Pioneer MVH-X580DAB that was bought for my birthday and I want to fit it in my 2006 Doblo car. The Pioneer came with its own fixing unit a iso connector to 2 other connection blocks which connect into the car audio connectors I think. Also it comes with a external mic for the Bluetooth hands free. I also have a window mounted dab areial. Do I have to do anything with the Pioneer connection cable other than just plug the car ends in to it. I am struggling to find any info anywhere at the moment and would be very grateful if some one would kindly give me some help Many thanks

hi
i have fitted a pioneer x-8500DAB to my 2007.
i fitted a new roof mounted DAB antenna running cable down the passenger A pillar. you have to remove the top storage tray if you do this..oh and drill a bigger hole in the roof .. a bit fiddly. but great reception after its all done.
to remove front console you have to pop out the two centre vents as there are screws hiding in there....also fiddly but ok....get some of those plastic trim removal tools
also when that's all off you have to cut out the back of housing behind where the rear of stereo will fit to get all the wires in because the doblo radio is shorter than standards....cutting this out will leave a hole in heater duct but i sorted this by making a kind of pocket behind stereo with a plastic bag and duct tape.
i think the connectors did just plug right in but can't be sure without pulling the stereo out.
i have the mic running up the drivers side A pillar
have fun sorting it out...its worth it :)

Thanks for reply. Have sorted now Head unit was faulty. Bit concerned how tight it is fitting at the back though. Will the wires melt if touching the back. Would be great if back section of housing came off so you make sure wires were tucked out of way eh. Any one know if possible to split top housing cover where small gap is. Have taken two screws out at back inside but seems to be still attached to the front bit.??

No....that housing is a single peice. It looks like it could come apart, but it can't.

As you're looking at the front....

The left and right air vents will pull out, exposing the front to mounting screws. Get a long #2 screw stick to get the two in the back of the housing (all four are bright gold colored screws) and the entire housing will come off.

I bought a Double Din housing off eBay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Radi...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649) so I could mount a large touch screen unit with sat nav and the toys. Took 2 months to arrive from China, but fits perfectly.

Ok looking at the housing, it might be possible to split it into two parts. There's a plastic weld (see image) holding the two parts together. Although something tells me that would be a bad idea.

Many thanks for photos will have a look. Got another problem now When turning on as have got it wired correctly so it saves settings the Dab side does not seem to hold then preset channels and says “no signal” but after a while they then show up. Is it because it’s a window mounted areial and would I be better off with a magnetic roof mount one.
