Hi to all,
We do our own repairs, servicing and maintenance where ever possible, this
includes brake bleeding.
Never bled the ABS unit at all. A fellow mechanic says he bleeds the unit as
follows. Jack car off ground, remove all wheels. Start car up and place in
second gear. Start to bleed brake system, starting from rear and working
towards the front, getting someone to press brake pedal at each wheel
bleed. It needs to be in gear in order for the vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
to send input to the ABS unit. The idea being this will mimmick road use.
The suggestion that this will remove any air in the ABS unit.
Is this true or not?
I have the multiecuscan free version which can execute ABS power pump
all the relative valves.
However I'm not sure how to go about this procedure using the
multiecuscan.
Any hints, tips and methods of procedures would be great to have under
my belt. We have here, 3 doblos, 2 pandas, 1 ducato camper and 1 iveco
daily cherry picker.........................all with ABS units.
It would be handy to be able to check them all out.
Hope ye can point me in the right direction.
Thanks a million.
John.
